Brigham Young’s Teachings on Adam, p. 9 “In my doctrinal teachings I have taught many things not written in any book, ancient or modern. And yet, notwithstanding the many things I have told the people, I have never looked into the Bible, the Book of Mormon, or the Doctrine and Covenants, or any of our Church works to see whether they agreed with them or not. When I have spoken by the power of God and the Holy Ghost it is truth, it is scripture, and I have no fears but that it will agree with all that has been revealed in every particular.” — Deseret News, vol. 26, no. 18, 6 June 1877, 274, column 5, paragraph 2, discourse given by President Brigham Young, 25 May 1877, Logan, Utah, location not specified.

Would you trust a surgeon who had never been to med school?
If your answer is no, why pray tell would you trust a self-proclaimed prophet who hadn’t read the Bible in years?
Keep in mind he also didn’t believe what God said in His word, and from what it says in our reference today, hadn’t even opened the books he promises are true.
If you’re LDS we pray you’ll do as John and the Bereans did by searching God’s word and testing all things!
If you’re Christian, please pray for those who are questioning, and for Jesus to intervene!
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
The fact that the Mormons consider the words of their Genera Authorites, to be scripture and the Word of God is scary. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, when Mormon General Authorities speak during General Conference, those talks are the printed in the Ensign. The Ensign talks are then discussed in Priesthood Quorum and Relief Society. It has been my experience, as a member of the LDS Church, that members will spend more time studying talks by Kimball, Monson,Eyring, J Fielding Smith, Russell M Nelson,Hubert Grant etc, then they will Biblical verses spoken by Jesus Christ
So if everything he taught was true, then why do the Mormons deny the Adam-God doctrine now?
In my opinion, the General Authorities, ever since the days of Brigham Young,have become very efficient in changing doctrine and at the same time, convincing church members that these changes were being brought about via inspiration from God. When changes come about (2 hr church services, no more home teaching etc), the biblical scriptures, regarding God never deviating from His Word (Malachi 3:6 and Hebrews 13:8), are always avoided. Not only does God’s never change, it is eternal, it has always been and will continue to be forever and forever (1 Peter 1:23-25)
