January 16 — Are Mormons Christians? Today we’re looking at a subject in the LDS Gospel Topic Section of their website. I’ve become quite enamored with how the Bible provides answers to topics that speak directly to contemporary issues for us today. It’s a reminder that God obviously knew beforehand! Notice in their statement they make the accusation that sincere seekers of truth will accept their variant belief. Furthermore, freedom to worship as you please doesn’t mean you’re exempt from following rules. If you’re not worshiping the right Jesus, it still means you’re not Christian, regardless of what freedoms you may or may not have. Pray that God will open their hearts to this truth!

Gospel Topics, ‘Are Mormons Christian’; “Although the doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints differs from that of the many creedal Christian churches, it is consistent with early Christianity. One who sincerely loves, worships, and follows Christ should be free to claim his or her understanding of the doctrine according to the dictates of his or her conscience without being branded as non-Christian.”
As an inactive Mormon who loves my Baptist church more and more each day, I have been asked by many of my Baptist friends; “do you believe Mormons are Christians?”
Personally, I am sometimes confused on this matter. Let me recite some Biblical scriptures that may reflect on how I feel. “Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father; he that acknowledgeeth the Son, hath the Father. also.”(1 John 2:23); “For whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him and he in God.” (1 John 4:15). Even the BOM ,says in many places, that Jesus Christ was God in the flesh. Here are some examples; “The Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, should manifest himself unto them in the flesh; and after he should manifest himself, they shall scourge him and crucify him, according to the angel who spoke unto me.” (2 Nephi 6:9). “And because he said unto them, that Christ was God, the Father of all things and that he should take upon him the image of man.” (Mosiah 7:27). “Now Zeezrom said again unto him, Is the Son of God the very Eternal Father? And Amulek said unto him; Yea, he is the Eternal Father.” (Alma 11:37); “But there is a God and he is Jesus Christ and he cometh in the fullness of his own time” (2 Nephi 11:8). Those are just a few examples of the BO testifying that Jesus was God in the flesh. Why the Mormons no longer believe that…Read Doctrines and Covenants
