January 19 — Book of Joseph. Testing for Truth, Part 3; “Many people refuse to use the Bible as a standard for truth. They will often claim that the Bible is not trustworthy, after all, it’s thousands of years old, and it’s probably been corrupted over the years…
If someone claims that the Bible has been corrupted, they have immediately revealed themselves to be a false teacher. Consider this, why would God give us scripture as a means to test teachers, allow that scripture to become corrupted, and then send us another teacher, with no means to test him?
If God had allowed scriptures to become corrupted, and their meanings lost, then we would cease to have any way of knowing God’s truth. For even if after this supposed corruption God were to send a prophet to restore truth, how would we know that it is indeed truth, with no test, anything this prophet says is suspect.
If God were to allow scriptures to become corrupted, that would make it impossible for us to know when He speaks to us. There simply would be no way of knowing if a person is a true prophet of God, or a false prophet teaching doctrines of demons, as any conflict with scripture can simply be excused with the accusation of corruption.”

Acts 17:11; “These (Bereans) were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”

Mormon Doctrine, p. 69 “As to the papyrus rolls which the Prophet had, after his death they fell into the hands of apostates and enemies of the Church. As far as is known they were destroyed in the great Chicago fire in 1871. But the day shall come when the Book of Joseph shall be restored and its contents shall be known again. This we know because the Brass Plates themselves are yet to be translated and sent forth “unto every nation, kindred tongue, and people.” (Alma 37:3-5.)” – Bruce McConkie
The Mormons are a restless people. The Bible (God’s Word) was not enough for them, so they (JS) created the Book of Mormon, Doctrines and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price. The Blood of Jesus Christ, which was shed for the remission of our sins, was apparently not enough for the salvation of our souls, therefore, the Mormons created Saving Ordinances. The Mormons made salvation very exclusive onto themselves. For example, by saying that Baptism is necessary for salvation and that Baptism only counts when being performed by a member of the Mormon church (Melchizedek Priesthood Holder). Oh, and by the way, Saving Ordinances that are done in the TEMPLE require a Temple Recommend. If you are not a full tithe payer, you can’t get into the Temple. Question, would Jesus ever put a price tag on salvation? He already paid the price for our salvation through his sacrifice on the cross
the bible is true .the book of mormon is a fake book .part is solomon spuoldings book and the rest is book of isahia from the bible..joe smith lied
God is Almighty…He is more than powerful enough to keep His Holy word and Church together. The Holy Bible (sola scriptura) as it is today, contains everything we need revealed by God. It contains His true nature, (God, Jesus and Holy Spirit).
It also contains the true and living gospel, as revealed through Paul in 1 Corinthians chapter 15. It’s all there, nothing missing, no secrets.
The problem with McConkie’s claim is that the papyrus survived the fire and exists today, proving that Smith did not translate anything from it; it’s just a funeral scroll.
