January 13 — Will of God, or Man? Gen. 3:24 “So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim’s, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life”.

Next to John 3:16, the Genesis scripture should be at the forefront of every believer’s mind. Man was separated from God, hence the need for John 3:16. It was not God’s intention for this to happen. He knew it would happen, but it doesn’t mean that He willed it to happen. Mormons believe man had to sin in order to know joy, sadness and to even procreate. They believe this sin commandment came from God.
If God hates sin why would He do this?

“Fall of Adam…In conformity to the will of the Lord, Adam fell both spiritually and temporally.” Mormon Doctrine, p. 194.
God loves us. He gave us His Word as spiritual food (1 Peter 2:2; Hebrews 5:12-14). The Word of God is our sword to do battle with the devil (Ephesians 6:1`7). The Word of God was Jesus’s weapon of choice when doing battle with the devil (Matthew 4:1-11). When the devil tempted Jesus, he would respond “It is Written”., “it is written”, Eventually, the devil succumbed to the Power of the Word of God and fled the presence of Jesus (Matthew 4:11).Why do Mormons believe that the Bible, Gods Holy Word, was so deficient , that God had to send Joseph Smith to change God’s Word, refine God’s word and then add his (Joseph Smith) own words to God’s Words? If God’s Word was good enough for Jesus, then it is certainly good enough for mankind, without the meddling of Joseph Smith, or any church authority. Most changes in the church come about due to the political climate at the time
