Wilford Woodruff, His Life and Labors, p 587; “There is one peculiar characteristic noticeable in the journal of Wilford Woodruff, it is that hopeful, joyful spirit that dwells with ever increasing satisfaction upon the things that are good and uplifting…He said in his journal of October, that year, that “Aunt Jane,” the colored sister, had been to see him. She was anxious to go through the Temple and receive the higher ordinances of the gospel.
President Woodruff blessed her for her constant, never changing devotion to the gospel, but explained to her her disadvantages as one of the descendants of Cain. In after years when President Joseph F. Smith preached the funeral sermon of this same faithful woman he declared that she would in the resurrection attain the longings of her soul and become a white and beautiful person.” – 1909
Psalm 139:14; “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”
So now that we’re living on this side of 1978, is this same woman or any other black Mormon person for that matter, still living with disadvantages?
Will God still turn them white in heaven?
If God is going to turn them white in heaven for being righteous and joining the Church, why doesn’t he go ahead and do that now like he did for the Lamanites in the Book of Mormon when they turned white?
3 Nephi 2:14-16; “And it came to pass that those Lamanites who had united with the Nephites were numbered among the Nephites; 15 And their curse was taken from them, and their skin became white like unto the Nephites; 16 And their young men and their daughters became exceedingly fair, and they were numbered among the Nephites, and were called Nephites. And thus ended the thirteenth year.”
This was originally posted back in 2012. We’ve been praying the Church would denounce this blasphemous false teaching, alas they have not.
My personal question about this?
Will my great-grandmother be white in heaven? She was born into a black Welsh family.
This has to be one of the most egregious teachings in Mormonism. Even back in 1909, it’s shocking Woodruff, and/or Joseph Fielding Smith didn’t think this would be offensive, not to mention highly ungodly. I’ve often wondered what my grandmother thought in those times. If you were the woman mentioned in the article, what would your reaction be?
Unfortunately, Mormonism still hasn’t denounced their racist theology and proof is seen in the canon they hold near and dear.
Pray for all Mormons to stop and think about what this means for them, and anyone of color who’s now a member of the Church!
With Love in Christ;;

I have a question for you guys. Do you that there may be some General Authorities that realize the Mormon church is false, but continue their charade, not wanting to damage the faith of the faithful?
Yes! The GA’s get paid quite handsomely to keep up the “charade”. In fact if Michelle would be so kind…she’s written an article or 2 on this very subject.
I personally believe every single one of them know the truth.
I will gather the articles within the next day or so and post them as a group. 😉
I’ve been snowed in – literally – from a massive and pretty unusual storm for Seattle area.
9 days of snowing, power outages, and windstorms. My backyard saw 42 inches of snow. Our outdoor dining table on the deck still has more than a foot of snow on it. Kirk resorted to the dreaded task of shoveling some of it off the roof…oh brother! PTL it’s raining!
Hi there soldiermp –
in answer to your question – YES, No doubt. As I mentioned in a reply below, I’ve written articles on this and will be gathering them to post as a collection w/in the next day or two.
Sorry for my delayed response – we’ve been buried in snow, and power outages. Today is the first day in awhile we’ve had power and internet all day. 😉

Hi soldiermp –
Here’s a couple of things to look at on our site – each has outside references to verify what we’ve said. It’s always important to make sure you check the source – and that goes for everyone. If you’re LDS and reading this we pray you do the homework to verify these things as well!

LDS Leaders Who Admit Mormonism Isn’t True
https://lifeafterministry.com/lds-leaders-who-admit-mormonism-isnt-true/
I knew it! I knew I remembered hearing that correctly! When I was somewhat new in the Mormon Church I was sitting in Relief Society and one of the women talked about this very thing. She actually said, “Black people will become White”! Wow, I wish I would have had the thought processes back then that I do now to know this is 100% racist nonsense.
It’s amazing to me how converting to Mormonism takes away your ability to think and process information on your own. It truly is rooted and surrounded in darkness. – Melissa Grimes
I am SO glad you shared this! Sad that it happened tho, 🙁
You’re absolutely right about the effects of what happens while being a Mormon.
One of the biggest shocks for me was how clear my thinking was when I left and I wasn’t a convert. I would imagine that converts like yourself, Kirk, and others experience the same thing. It must’ve been very confusing and frustrating at the same time.

The LDS has been racist from the beginning, and they are still as racist as ever but it is just keep under the table, so to speak.
For some real fun reading in regards to LDS racism, John J. Stewart’s book, “Mormonism and the Negro” is a good one. I found a copy at a used book sale in 2000. The front page says: “An explanation and defense of the doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in regard to Negroes and others of Negro blood.”
And it has “A historical supplement, “The CHURCH and the NEGROID PEOPLE,” by William E. Barrett.
In the next day or so I’ll be sharing a list of LDS resources in a PDF format. One of those is the book you mentioned above! Tomorrow’s post is on one of the things from Stewart’s book. All I can say is – SCARY! –
We’re praying Mormons will see these things for what they are – lies from none other than Satan!
I shouldn’t be “Anonymous” anymore…my bad !
The GA’s must be paid loads of cash to peddle total nonsense. I bet the GA’s roll about laughing in private, and throw wads of cash in the air!
