Galatians 2:16 “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”
An article in the March issue of Ensign gave members a laundry list of mandates for true salvation. Their list of manmade works for salvation served as a stark reminder for us as Christians to always be on our knees for these dear people!
‘…the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands…’ Acts 7:48
It’s obvious the Church leadership hasn’t any good news to offer its members. Their best offer of salvation in Christ hinges on the idea people are responsible for their own fate. If they jump high enough through the correct hoops while wearing the proper clothing, they’ve earned the opportunity to work for their salvation.
Their article offered a handful of snippets from various leaders reminding Mormons of their arduous task ahead. Some of those included the following…
1.Proper attire when attending the temple — Russell Nelson.
2.Knowing the definitions of 7 Mormon words pertaining to salvation — Russell Nelson.
3.Accepting that endowments are the only way to true salvation — Robert D. Hales.
4.Endowments helps to qualify Saints for exaltation, aka godhood, in the future — Robert D. Hales.
5.Participation in the temple shields members, and provides spiritual power — Boyd K. Packer.
All those things, they said, provides a ‘firm foundation’ for their daily living. They went on to state that access to the blessings of God are only found in temple attendance. To read the article in full, see Ensign, ‘Temple Endowment Q&A,’ March 2019.
They should have reminded members the Lord said He is our shield (Psalm 3:3), and there’s no other foundation but Jesus (1 Corinthians 3:11). To be sure, our hearts are sickened by reading these false teachings.
Please, pray for those who read the lies, and for Jesus to intervene!
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
I read this little gem the other day by Dave Bartosiewics. I couldn’t have said it any better.
“The NT clearly teaches that we do not need physical temples of any sort to save us. In Hebrews we become completely aware that Jesus is the altar, the tabernacle, His flesh the veil, His heaven the Holy of holies, the only High Priest over the house of God. He is our confession, there is no need to go to a temple to receive a sealing since the believers are promised by God that His Spirit, the Holy Spirit of Promise resides in us and we become sealed by Him through our belief as an eternal companion, an eternal bride, with Him our bridegroom forever. Read Eph. 1: 14. Temples in the past were only for sacrificial gifts for the redemption of sin through the unblemished blood of the lambs. Jesus is our last sacrifice and paid the last drop of blood for our sins. Praise Him…it is completely finished. He fulfilled everything and nailed it to the cross. If we don’t go through Jesus as our temple, we miss out on salvation.” Thanks Dave. And thanks Michelle. And more importantly, thank you Jesus.
