May 14 – Moses’ Death. Joshua 1:1; “Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun…”

Pray today your Mormon friend or relative would look in their Bible to see that Moses actually died and was buried. Share with them from the end of Deuteronomy how this happened, and that he was indeed dead. By using demonstrative evidence, you can back up your words through the Bible. Also ask where in the Bible does it say Moses took part in the first resurrection with Christ?

“It is clear that he was translated and taken into heaven without tasting death so that, with Elijah, another translated being, he could return on the Mount of Transfiguration and give keys and authority to Peter, James and John. (Matt. 17:1-13; Alma 45:18-19; Teachings, p. 158…) And we know that he had part with Christ in the first resurrection.” Bruce McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, p. 365.
What exactly is a ” translated being”???
I always love to hear what McConkie had to say. SMH
Hey there Melissa!
To be translated means entering heaven without dying first.
Here’s what it says at GotQuestions.org —
https://www.gotquestions.org/Enoch-Elijah.html
According to the Bible, Enoch and Elijah are the only two people God took to heaven without them dying. Genesis 5:24 tells us, “Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.” Second Kings 2:11 tells us, “Suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind.” Enoch is described as a man who “walked with God for 300 years” (Genesis 5:23). Elijah was perhaps the most powerful of God’s prophets in the Old Testament. There are also prophecies of Elijah’s return (Malachi 4:5-6).
🙂
I find it fascinating God would do things like this as it reminds me of what a powerful God He is and that He’s a God to be revered! 🙂

OH OK, I’d never heard translated used that way…I just thought McConkie was just making up things. Perfect example though…we’re never sure when they are actually being truthful. My bad, thanks Michelle.
Mormons just make up things as they go.
