July 4 – A nightmare come true. John 8:32 “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”.
_____
Ah, the taste of freedom is great to those who have tasted of it! How sweet it is not be burdened by the heavy yoke of slavery to sin and guilt. Were it not for Him who saves, we would be a miserable bunch.
Imagine the load of guilt for the Mormon who believes that every time they sin, all their former sins return as well. It’d truly be a nightmare.

D&C 82:7 “And now, verily I say unto you, I, the Lord, will not lay any sin to your charge; go your ways and sin no more; but unto that soul who sinneth shall the former sins return, saith the Lord your God”.
How about the lady at the well who was about to be stoned by her fellow towns people (villagers?) Jesus said, let him that is without sin among you be the first to throw a rock at her. All he accusers then fled. Jesus sat alone with her at the well and asked her, where are all your accusers, have any of those guys condemned thee? And the lady said ‘”No Man, LORD (Confession of Jesus as Lord). And Jesus said, neither do I condemn thee. (John 8:10,11)
In Psalm 103:14, God says: “For he knows our frame, he remembereth that we are but dust.: In Ecclesiastes 7:20 says that there is not a just man anywhere that does not sin daily.
Jesus understands the war between the flesh and the spirit. Even Paul talked about how the things that he knew to do , he didn’t do, and the things that he knew were sinful, he often did. He admitted, that even for him (Paul) he often fought had to fight the battle between the flesh and spirit (Galatians 5)
In Galatians 5:1, Paul says” Stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” The Mormon church continually reminds people that there is still more and more to do (in the church) in order for people to be seen as righteous in the eyes of God. In the Mormons church, the redeeming blood of Jesus is not seen as quite enough for men of faith to be forgiven for their sins.
