Make no mistake beloved, the wording of this man (Ezra Taft Benson) is deliberate and conniving. He is only one of the dozens in the Church who have referred to Jesus in this manner. Mormons hold onto a subordinist viewpoint, meaning God the Father is greater than Jesus the Son, who is greater than the Holy Ghost. They also believe Jesus will inherit this earth someday, thus the reference to this Jesus being the god of this world.
However, the Bible is very clear in all this. The god of this world is none other than Satan himself. Referring to Jesus as the god of this world is a deliberate act of willful disobedience, and a clear rejection of Him who was crucified.
