Jesus’ lineage can be found in the gospels of Matthew and Luke; neither of which says anything about Joseph Smith being in the lineage of Jesus Christ.
Joseph was not the “Rod” from the loins of the Stem of Jesse – this is a reference to Jesus.
After showing this evidence to the Mormon you know, ask for their opinion on it. This was a very serious charge, and heretical one at that. Smith made this about himself, and it’s what the Church continues to lie about today.
