LDS First Presidency Message “We Believe in Being Chaste,” Ensign, Sept. 1981, 3 “You will recall Alma’s teaching his son Corianton that unchastity is the most serious offense there is in the sight of God, except for murder or denying the Holy Ghost. (See Alma 39:5.) President Clark, in a conference address in October 1938, said: ‘Chastity is fundamental to our life and to our civilization. If the race becomes unchaste, it will perish. Immorality has been basic to the destruction of mighty nations of the past; it will bring to dust the mighty nations of the present. You young people, may I directly entreat you to be chaste. Please believe me when I say that chastity is worth more than life itself. This is the doctrine my parents taught me; it is truth. It is better to die chaste than to live unchaste. The salvation of your very souls is concerned in this.’ Now, my dear friends, we know there is nothing new in what we have said. These things are time-tested; they are true. To this we testify.” — Marion Romney
Matthew 22:37-39 “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”
Luke 12:10 “And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.”
Of all things…really?
- There’s nothing in the Bible telling us being unchaste is close to denying the Holy Ghost.
- There’s nothing in the Bible telling us being unchaste will wipe out civilization.
- Mr. Romney couldn’t pass up the chance to throw in his racist ideologies into the other lies he spewed out. What does the color of someone’s skin have to do with being morally clean?
God’s Holy Impeachable Word alludes to none of Romney’s idolatrous ideas so don’t be fooled! For what it’s worth, this is only one of the many times this church has pounded the pulpit with these falsehoods.
We’re all well aware of the insidious claims by other LDS teachers who’ve taught that it’s better to be dead than unclean, or it’s better to come home in a pine box than to be unclean.
Shame on them! We’re putting together a list of talks like this for future reference and will post on it soon.
Be sure to share the truth of what God says with the Mormon you know!
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
WOW!!! Where to start…So Mr. Romney’s parents are the standard of truth? Not God’s word?
This is exactly why Elisabeth Smart has been speaking out about this. She said she grew up learning “better to die chaste” and the licked cup cakes demonstrations at school and church.
The president’s wife Wendy has a children’s book titled “The not even once club” How many young folks committed suicide over this very issue?
John Dahlin has just done a podcast on a Mormon Bishop in Utah that was recently busted in Memphis for taking photos of a woman undressing in a changing stall in a mall. Apparently, he even got fired from his day job after 20 different women complained about his sexual harassment. Members (females) from his ward complained to the Stake Pres about his touchy/ feely behavior and nothing happened. Even after his arrest in Memphis, to include cell phone photo evidence), he still remained a Bishop for another five months.After that, he was promoted to Stake High Council. Oh, and by the way, the guy had an adulterous affair with another woman for over a year. Many people in his ward knew of the affair, members of the Stake knew of the affair, yet, the church turned a blind eye to it.
