Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
The internet is awash with sites teaching people how to breathe properly. For the record, we’re not talking about breathing properly for singers, or athletes. The problem? It’s a gimmick for New Age teachings! One example is New Age Gathering. As you read along on this particular site, it stresses why it’s important, medically speaking, to practice deep breathing exercises several times a day.
After dropping names of a few health experts in favor of their cause, the real agenda revealed itself. They eventually began talking about different gurus you can follow, and the different prayers they recommend. It’s much like Mormonism. They use Christian vocabulary when peddling their wares at doors of the unsuspecting.
Once again, the article in this Church magazine shows why they lack godly discernment.
In addition to our verse in Romans seen above, God’s word tells us to ‘hold all things captive to the obedience of Christ’ in 2 Corinthians 10:5. In reality, all Christians should take the time every day to stop and have a chat with Jesus – it’s called prayer!
Paul reminds us in Philippians to be anxious for nothing, and God’s peace will guard our hearts – Philippians 4:6-7.
We’re told the prayers of a righteous man is effective – James 5:16.
In Romans we’re reminded that although we may not know what to pray for, His Spirit intercedes for us – Romans 8:26.
The Lord also tell us to be joyful in all circumstances – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.
Jesus told us that He’ll do whatever we ask in His name – John 14:13-14.
With just a few examples here, why would you guide an inexperienced young person under your care to do anything else but follow Jesus’ direction?
As an FYI, the word pray, and its derivatives, are in the NT 172 times! With that many times our Lord has talked about praying, and prayers, why would we need to look elsewhere?
Remember to share this info with the Mormon, and remind them about the dangers of following false teachers!
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
