Where is Zion? America, or Israel? Zechariah 9:9a; “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee…”
Matthew 21:8-10; “And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strewed them in the way. 9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. 10 And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?”

Greeted with rejoicing in Jerusalem… The Golden Gate, also known as the Eastern Gate is where Jesus entered Jerusalem and has been closed off for centuries now. If you do a search looking for info on why or when this happened you’ll come up with a different answer for each inquiry made. Some say it happened in 1541 during the Ottoman Empire, others say it happened during the days of Ezekiel which would mean it’d have to reopen because this is the gate Jesus entered when He went into Jerusalem. Still others claim it took place circa 700 AD. What we do know is that it’s closed and will open again when our Lord returns! The picture upper left is known as the ‘Golden Gate’ or ‘Eastern Gate’. The 2nd image on right is what the Golden Gate looks like from inside the walls of Jerusalem.
Mormons believe Jesus will return again and when He does, it’ll be in Zion. However, the Zion they’re referring to is the American Continent, not Israel.

History of the Church 7:258 “The Whole of America Zion. To those who want to go away from this place, I would say wait until the time comes. I will give you the key. North and South America is Zion and as soon as the Temple is done and you get your endowments you can go and build up stakes, but do not be in haste, wait until the Lord says go.” – Brigham Young, August 18, 1844
“Awake, awake, put on they strength, O Zion: put on the beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the Holy City; for henceforth there shall be more come to thee, the uncircumcised and the unclean. Shake thyself from the dust, arise and sit down, O Jerusalem, loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.” (Isaiah 52:1,2) Also read, Isaiah 60:13,14).
Also, in regard to Zion, remember in genesis 12: 2,3, god’s promise to Abraham that a nation would be developed on his behalf and that God will bless whatever nation blesses thee (Israel) and God will curse whatever nation that curseth Israel and that through israel, all families of the earth will be either blessed or cursed. by God.
Hey, Mormons. Put your trust in God’s Word and not in the words of man. Afterall: “So shall my Word be that goeth forth from my mouth: It (Word) shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please and it shall prosper in the thing whereto it was sent,” (isaiah 55:11)
God’s Word will always come to pass. Check out what old Joe and Brigham had to say and ask yourselves, how much of what they said (prophesied) actually came to pass
I don’t think Young ever said anything that was true!
