God’s Long Awaited Promise Wasn’t Joseph Smith!

Genesis 49:10 “The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.”

Luke 3:33 “Which was the son of Aminadab, which was the son of Aram, which was the son of Esrom, which was the son of Phares, which was the son of Juda.”

The Seed of Judah ……. Jacob had a sit down family meeting with his sons and told his son Judah that through his lineage would come rulership for the Israelites. Through Judah King David would be born and after that, Jesus.  No one else could possibly fill the shoes of Jesus and no one else the world had seen or would see after that time would be acceptable.

Somehow Joe Smith tricked people into believing he was the long awaited focus of God’s promise.

Life of Joseph the Prophet, p. 6 “The great work of opening the dispensation thus accomplished by the august administration of the Father and Son, the heavens rested for a season. There was divine wisdom in this. Joseph was too young at that time to be sent forth with the wondrous proclamation to all nations, kindreds and tongues, that God had called him to be the prophet of a new civilization; too young, at fourteen, to seek out from the multitude strong apostolic men, saying unto them, “Leave your nets and follow me.””
