LDS Exaltation: Having Power, and Glory Like God

Gospel Principles, p. 277 “Blessings of Exaltation … They will have everything that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have—all power, glory, dominion, and knowledge (see D&C 132:19–20). President Joseph Fielding Smith wrote: “The Father has promised through the Son that all that he has shall be given to those who are obedient to His commandments. They shall increase in knowledge, wisdom, and power, going from grace to grace, until the fulness of the perfect day shall burst upon them” (Doctrines of Salvation, comp. Bruce R. McConkie, 3 vols. [1954–56], 2:36; italics in original).”

Romans 9:20 “Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?”
Isaiah 40:12 “Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?”

Isaiah 43:10-11 “Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. 11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.”

When you have an opportunity, ask a Mormon for their opinion about the Bible verses here, and what their official teaching manual, Gospel Principles, has to say.

How can they restfully say they’ll become a god?

Why is it okay to think you’ll have the same power God has?

Doesn’t this strip God of His power?

Why would you worship a god who has equal power to your own?

We pray this is done in a loving manner. We’re not here to bash the Mormon people, but to love them by showing what the God of the Bible has to say!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
