April 16 — Impatience Filled with Hopeless Lies. Psalm 33:18 “Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy”.

A statement in Jeffrey Holland’s speech at General Conference was far from truth. His comment even contradicted the testimony of Joseph Smith! The early 19th century produced the 2nd Great Awakening where multitudes of people attended camp revivals, and the Protestant faith grew immensely.
Ironically, one of the only people doubting the Lord was none other than Smith himself. Making matters worse, Mr. Holland’s impatience reveals his disregard for teaching others historical truth. He’s led members down a path of lies while showing by example investigating truth is unnecessary. Shame on him!

A Perfect Brightness of Hope “…had we lived in those first years of the 19th century, we would have realized with great alarm that doubts about the reality of the Savior’s life and Resurrection were beginning to take significant hold within Christendom. …” — Jeffrey Holland
Holland came to our Stake for a talk. He mentioned that as he walking across the parking lot to the church building, some lady, pushing a baby stroller, with baby inside, looked up and saw him (Jeff Holland). He described her gasps of excitement and astonishment at seeing him. He said she kept walking forward toward the curb, in a state of shock, She then hit the curb, with the baby buggy. The baby bounced up and Holand caught it. He went on to say the lady kept repeating;” You’re Jeffrey Holland, you’re Jeffrey Holland..” He sort of described the encounter as though he were some sort of rock star. Odd?
He actually did gave a good talk. He talked about people getting angry with God and how God understand this. He went on to talk about the learning experience that trials can bring us.. He even quoted Bible scripture instead of BOM verses. His entire talk was Biblica in nature and I was shocked. It was the first time I had heard any Mormon speaker, speak in a way that did not glorify the Mormon church.
Holland even said something that was actually pretty funny. He was speaking to all of us priests and how we need to keep active as home teachers. He said; , “Come on guys, do your home teaching. Haven’t you gotten tired yet listening to the Genera Authorities always trying To guilt trip you”?
