June 24 – High Priest. Leviticus 21:10; “And he that is the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil was poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not uncover his head, nor rend his clothes.”

In the OT, God told Moses there was to be only one High Priest at a time. When we get to the NT era, we see where the Romans not only invaded Israel politically, and geographically speaking, but they did so with God’s temple as well. John 18:13 tells us how Annas and Caiaphas were both serving as high priests in one year. This was a clear violation of God’s Law.
Share these verses with a Mormon and explain why people in the BoM couldn’t have been following the God of the Bible. Their text repeatedly states many high priests were serving the Lord, and kept the Law of Moses. This couldn’t be true when God never condoned this in Israel.

Alma 13:9-10“Thus they become high priests forever, after the order of the Son, the Only Begotten of the Father, who is without beginning of days or end of years, who is full of grace, equity, and truth. And thus it is. Amen. 10 Now, as I said concerning the holy order, or this high priesthood, there were many who were ordained and became high priests of God; and it was on account of their exceeding faith and repentance, and their righteousness before God…”
The Mormon church is really big on priesthood power, especially a high priest.. The Mormons always stress the importance of priesthood holders in a family. Those families without a priesthood holder are encouraged to reach out to priesthood holders for counseling, blessings, wisdom, taking of the sacrament, spiritual knowledge and wisdom. Single women are looked upon as welfare cases that need the presence of a priesthood holder in order to receive spiritual blessings or special guidance.
What everybody needs in their home is Jesus Christ. Christ’s presence in a home is achieved by faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. When you have Christ in your home, the need for a high priest or priesthood holder is irrelevant, especially if the priesthood holder is simply a representative of the LDS Church, rather than a true follower of Christ
Like everything else in the Mormon church, the sacrifice of Christ on the Cross is not enough. You need something special that only the church can provide.
WOW! I’m a welfare case. Jesus is the ONLY High Priest, and He’s ALL I need.
