General Conference, ‘All Nations, Kindreds, and Tongues’ October 2020 “…consider how the prophecies God gives His servants are fulfilled. … As we hearken to the Lord’s spirit of prophecy, we can become, in our own way, part of the fulfillment of His prophecies…” — Gerrit Gong
The LDS Church has indeed fulfilled prophecies in the Bible alright.
Jude 1:4-6 “For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. 5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. 6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.”
The Church’s Objectives: Obey God’s Laws
General Conference, ‘A New Normal’, October 2020 “We live in a glorious age, foreseen by prophets for centuries. … Let us not spin our wheels in the memories of yesterday. The gathering of Israel moves forward. The Lord Jesus Christ directs the affairs of His Church, and it will achieve its divine objectives. … Embrace your new normal by repenting daily. …
Magnify your callings. And whatever your challenges, my dear brothers and sisters, live each day so that you are more prepared to meet your Maker.
That is why we have temples. The Lord’s ordinances and covenants prepare us for eternal life, the greatest of all of God’s blessings. As you know, the COVID pandemic required a temporary closure of our temples. … We look forward to the day when all worthy members of the Church can again serve their ancestors and worship in a holy temple.
I am pleased to announce plans for the construction of six new temples… … As we build and maintain these temples, we pray that each of you will build and maintain yourself so you can be worthy to enter the holy temple. …
Now, my dear brothers and sisters, I bless you to be filled with the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ. His peace is beyond all mortal understanding. I bless you with an increased desire and ability to obey the laws of God. …” — Russell Nelson
Hebrews 1:1-2 “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds”.
A few questions about Mr. Nelson’s talk…
If they shouldn’t spend time with memories of yesterday, why are they mandated to be baptized for dead relatives?
Mr. Nelson said they should be prepared to meet their Maker, but the Mormon god didn’t create them, so now what?
Mr. Nelson said their greatest gift from God is eternal life, however, this hasn’t always been the case. The Church has repeatedly claimed God’s greatest gift/power to mankind is the ability to procreate.
Only Jesus has the power to fill man’s soul with His Spirit. Mr. Nelson is way out of line by stating anything outside those parameters.
Lastly beloved, why should members stay worthy if they can’t attend the temple? Paying 10% of your income should come with benefits, right? This is a lousy return on investment, and the Church being a corporation knows this all too well.
LDS Women Told to Repent and Obey
ChurchNews.com General Conference October 2020 Womens Session “…As we come unto Jesus Christ by exercising faith in Him, repenting and making and keeping covenants, our brokenness — whatever its cause — can be healed.” — Christina Franco
Galatians 2:21 “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.”
The only covenant the Lord recognizes is the one made by accepting His Son’s blood was shed for our sins.
Please, pray for those who listened to this conference! Also ask the Mormon you know for their opinion about the talks listed here.
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
So, the church is going to build six (6) new temples. My questions is, why? Why would the church build new temples in areas where there is a small “Active” church community, such as in Rome, Italy? Does the church hierarchy really believe, for example, that the few Italian church members in Italy, are really going to be “frequent attendees” at the Rome temple? How many Italians could “honestly” pass a temple recommend interview? How many Italians could honestly say that they have completely forsaken the use of wine and coffee? Same thing in the UK, when members are asked if they have forsaken the use of tea.
Mormons believe that God actually resides inside the LDS temples. Members believe that because God is present inside the Mormon temples, Satan can not enter the temples. If this be the case, why does each Mormon temple have it’s own security department, to include monitored CCTV cameras, located both inside and outside Mormon temples? The Bible says that God does not reside in buildings made by man (Acts 7:48). Members always talk about the wonderful, peaceful, harmonious “feelings” they get when inside the temples. How when they enter a church temple, all the cares of the world disappear and they become one with God. In every “Fast and Testimony” sacrament meeting I have ever attended, there are always members wanting to stand before the congregation and testify of the wonderful temple experiences they have had. These members always relish the opportunity to stand before the congregation and announce to fellow church members, how many times they have been to the temple, miracles they have experienced inside the temple, how much the temple means to them and how every member needs to go to the temple more often, just like themselves. Temple attendance has become “bragging rights” for many members.
The truth is, temple attendance was way down, long before the Covid19. Like many members, my experiences inside the temple were less than satisfactory. The endowment ceremonies were an exercise in frustration. Everytime I attended an endowment ceremony or a baptism for the dead, I would cringe at the rules, processes, procedures, secret signs and symbols etc. The temple ceremonies were, for me, an exercise in confusion and anxiety.
Bottom line, the church is building temples in areas of the world that have very few active (engaged) members living. If the church knows, that very few people are going to attend this new temple, why then do does the church insist on building these temples? I believe the answer to that is the perception by GA’s, that the presence of a LDS Temples, will somehow convince non members and less than active members, to consider joining the Mormon church. Instead, what the church really needs to do is to give an honest assessment and truthful testimony of the church’s tainted history, to include, the Restored Gospel, church leaders, such as Joe Smith, Brigham Young, Oliver Cowdery, the Book of Mormon, the Book of Abraham, tithing rules etc. The more the church covers up it’s tainted past, the more people are going to stay away from the temples and from the church altogether. The church needs to be honest about racism and how by embracing the teachings of former church presidents, they are endorsing racism. The church likes to cover up (justify) the talks given by former church presidents, that often included racist teachings. The church is quick to point out that these men lived in a different time and culture and that their teachings were a product of the time and the culture in which they lived. If church leaders had been attuned to the Biblical scripture, they would have known that God is timeless, that God doesn’t change, irregardless of what time or culture a person lives. If church presidents (prophets), had seen the world through the eyes of God (Bible verses), instead of the eyes of the world, they would never have made up stories about the premortal life and the place of black folks in the premortal life. Joseph Smith and church leaders following Smith, were men of the world, not men of God. The church’s emphasis on tithing and how tithing can determine whether of not a member can enter the temple and therefore, be eligible for entry into the celestial kingdom, is a testament of the LDS church’s worldly nature and beginnings.
