General Conference, ‘All Nations, Kindreds, and Tongues’ October 2020 “…consider how the prophecies God gives His servants are fulfilled. … As we hearken to the Lord’s spirit of prophecy, we can become, in our own way, part of the fulfillment of His prophecies…” — Gerrit Gong
The LDS Church has indeed fulfilled prophecies in the Bible alright.
Jude 1:4-6 “For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. 5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. 6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.”
The Church’s Objectives: Obey God’s Laws
General Conference, ‘A New Normal’, October 2020 “We live in a glorious age, foreseen by prophets for centuries. … Let us not spin our wheels in the memories of yesterday. The gathering of Israel moves forward. The Lord Jesus Christ directs the affairs of His Church, and it will achieve its divine objectives. … Embrace your new normal by repenting daily. …
Magnify your callings. And whatever your challenges, my dear brothers and sisters, live each day so that you are more prepared to meet your Maker.
That is why we have temples. The Lord’s ordinances and covenants prepare us for eternal life, the greatest of all of God’s blessings. As you know, the COVID pandemic required a temporary closure of our temples. … We look forward to the day when all worthy members of the Church can again serve their ancestors and worship in a holy temple.
I am pleased to announce plans for the construction of six new temples… … As we build and maintain these temples, we pray that each of you will build and maintain yourself so you can be worthy to enter the holy temple. …
Now, my dear brothers and sisters, I bless you to be filled with the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ. His peace is beyond all mortal understanding. I bless you with an increased desire and ability to obey the laws of God. …” — Russell Nelson
Hebrews 1:1-2 “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds”.
A few questions about Mr. Nelson’s talk…
If they shouldn’t spend time with memories of yesterday, why are they mandated to be baptized for dead relatives?
Mr. Nelson said they should be prepared to meet their Maker, but the Mormon god didn’t create them, so now what?
Mr. Nelson said their greatest gift from God is eternal life, however, this hasn’t always been the case. The Church has repeatedly claimed God’s greatest gift/power to mankind is the ability to procreate.
Only Jesus has the power to fill man’s soul with His Spirit. Mr. Nelson is way out of line by stating anything outside those parameters.
Lastly beloved, why should members stay worthy if they can’t attend the temple? Paying 10% of your income should come with benefits, right? This is a lousy return on investment, and the Church being a corporation knows this all too well.
LDS Women Told to Repent and Obey
ChurchNews.com General Conference October 2020 Womens Session “…As we come unto Jesus Christ by exercising faith in Him, repenting and making and keeping covenants, our brokenness — whatever its cause — can be healed.” — Christina Franco
Galatians 2:21 “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.”
The only covenant the Lord recognizes is the one made by accepting His Son’s blood was shed for our sins.
Please, pray for those who listened to this conference! Also ask the Mormon you know for their opinion about the talks listed here.
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
