General Conference, ‘In the Lord’s Own Way’, April 1986 “At least once a month, fast and pray and contribute generous fast offerings. We will be blessed and protected from apostasy by so doing.” — Russell M. Nelson
Isaiah 55:1 “Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.”
Psalm 62:10 “Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.”
The transliteration for oppression is ʿōsheq. In English it means extortion. This is what the Church is doing to its members, even today. Although Mr. Nelson gave this talk 35 years ago, they still hold fast to his words.
His words panned out to be a false prophecy, in addition to being a contradiction to historical facts.
There have been countless members who’ve given generously to the Church, and left it anyway. Their tithes didn’t prevent them from apostasy.
Pray for members to take heed to the words spoken at their conferences, and see them for what they are – lies.
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
