1 Corinthians 3:16 “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”
General Conference, ‘New Temples’, April 2021 “President Nelson’s announcement today of 20 new temples and their locations is unique not simply because of the historic number with specific locations. The prophet has now announced 69 new temples in the three years he has served as president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The Church of Jesus Christ now has 251 temples announced, under construction or operating.”
1 Corinthians 6:19 “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”
Acts 7:48 “Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet”.
The Church’s announcement sure caught my attention, and I’m sure I’m not alone in my dismay at the blatant disregard of God’s word, but also the waste of money.
While I’ve not read through all the talks given at the GC this past weekend, I’m ever hopeful someone will have mentioned the monumental event celebrated this past weekend – that being Christ Jesus and Him crucified!
Building new temples doesn’t honor our Lord. Their buildings are a loud declaration they’ve rejected Him.
Where are the hospitals for the needy, or shelters for women and children? What about tech schools in 3rd world countries? The millions it costs to build even one temple would be better spent elsewhere.
My heart is broken for those like my mother who’ve bought into their treacherous lies.
As we look at their talks in the upcoming week, please, don’t forget to pray for those who’ve bought into the lies of this corporation. As we all know, this isn’t a church proclaiming the Good News of Jesus’ resurrection, rather, it’s a company who charades as a Christian organization.
With Love in Christ —
Michelle
[…] Church Announces 20 New Temples […]
Instead of Temples, the church ought to consider building hospitals for elderly members that can not afford decent medical care. Perhaps, building hospitals in third world countries, where good medical care is scarce. If the church really truly about humanity and the health of it’s members (mankind), they would concentrate their efforts (monies) on taking care of the affirm, the poor, the weak, the addicted, the hungry and the homeless. Instead, the church seeks to glorify itself by building costly temples (idols) that everybody can see..Another thing, how many folks does the church honestly expect to attend these temples?
