July 3 – Matthew 5:33-35 “Again, ye have hard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool”.

Mormons swear oaths to the Mormon god in the temples when they go in for their endowments. There are three points of interest today.
1-scattered throughout their ‘scriptures’, Mormons are repeatedly told by their god not to take oaths, so why do they perform these things when they’re told not to.
2-at the time of this writing the book of Nephi was supposed to have taken place in 34 AD. That’s at least a full year after the Lord was crucified.
3-it’s difficult to ignore the similarities between the writings of the KJV Bible and the book of Nephi, right down to the verse numbers.

3 Nephi 12:33-35 “And again it is written, thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths; But verily, verily I say unto you, swear not at all; neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne; Nor by the earth, for it is his footstool”.
The similarities with the KJV are vast because so much is copied verbatim throughout the BOM.
Matthew 27:25
And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent.
Ephesians 2:13-16
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby.
