General Conference, ‘Celestial Marriage’, October 2008 “The noblest yearning of the human heart is for a marriage that will endure beyond death.” — Russell Nelson
Matthew 22:36-40 “Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
1.The first major problem in Mr. Nelson’s comment is how he didn’t remind members the heart is deceitful – Jeremiah 17:9. The most noble yearning of a godly person should be to worship and honor God!
2.He also didn’t remind them to test all things to ensure what they think is right lines up with what the Lord says in His word – 1 John 4:1.
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”
3.There’s a huge discrepancy in what Nelson said and what the Lord told the Sadducees.
Matthew 22:25-30 “Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother: 26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh. 27 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her. 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.”
4.Lastly, Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines noble as having or showing fine personal qualities or high moral principles and ideals. This means if you yearn for anything outside that you must not have very high standards. Sigh…
If you’re LDS we pray you’ll open your Bible to see what the Lord says about these things and if nothing else, to verify what we’ve said!

[…] Do You Yearn for God or Others? […]
God gave Adam a companion (Eve), so he wouldn’t be lonely, and for procreation.
However, We will NOT be lonely in heaven. We will be in the presence of the Lord and surrounded by believers. How awesome will that be. And no need for procreation, because heaven will be filled with those who accepted God’s gift of grace.
But hey, don’t take my word for it, because I’m not married, and apparently, not very “noble” either.
