LDS Conference Quote Defies True Honor

Conference Report, October 1937, p. 18 “I would rather lose my right arm than break my word of honor.” — Reed Smoot

Mark 8:36 “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

You can see how Mr. Smoot’s comment means nothing in a post we published in 2013 where he said temple endowments never change.

Here’s how dictionary.com defines honor —

‘Honesty, fairness, or integrity in one’s beliefs and actions

In other words, you need to tell the truth.

Sadly, Mr. Smoot had no intention of doing such things.

As always, we’re asking our Christian friends to pray for members of the Church and in a loving manner share the truth about their church’s past with them.

With Love in Christ —

Michelle
