Follow Joe Smith to Enter Heaven

Encyclopedia of Joseph Smith’s Teachings, p. 626 “Sin…I charged the Saints not to follow the example of the adversary in accusing the brethren, and said, “If you do not accuse each other, God will not accuse you. If you have no accuser you will enter heaven, and if you will follow the revelations and instructions which God gives you through me, I will take you into heaven as my back load. If you will not accuse me, I will not accuse you. If you will throw a cloak of charity over my sins, I will over yours—for charity covereth a multitude of sins. What many people call sin is not sin; I do many things to break down superstition, and I will break it down.” (Joseph Smith, History of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7 Vols. 4:445)”

John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

1 Timothy 5:20 “Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.”

Clearly, the Bible tells us Jesus is the way to heaven, not Joe Smith!

Furthermore, the LDS reference is wrong on many levels, but the main problem was Joseph Smith making excuses for his shenanigans by cloaking his sin with the self-appointed authority he held.

The meaning behind what he said was in reference to him trying to convince people having more than one wife was okay. If that wasn’t confusing enough the scripture he wrote declared that sin was necessary to produce children.

Moses 5:11 “And Eve, his wife, heard all these things and was glad, saying: Were it not for our transgression we never should have had seed, and never should have known good and evil, and the joy of our redemption, and the eternal life which God giveth unto all the obedient.”

Be sure to share the truth with a Mormon you know by using demonstrative examples from God’s word!

With Love in Christ —
