Leviticus 19:31 “Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.”
The October 2021 General Conference proved itself to be filled with the usual lies of Mormonism. What struck me this time around was who said what to whom. Today we’re looking at the talk given by Bonnie Cordon who is the General Young Women President.
No doubt it’s always tragic when a large corporation masking itself as a safe Christian organization outright lies to the world. Sadder still is when their target audience consists of the most vulnerable – meaning LDS young people.
Here in part is what Ms. Cordon had to say —
TheChurchNews.com “President Cordon pointed to two truths that are foundational to a young man or young woman’s “grand and glorious work” …
The first is for a person to know his or her divine destiny as a “beloved and cherished child of Heavenly Father” who loves them. Studying a patriarchal blessing can help discover the Lord’s guidance.
The second is for individuals to know their purpose and to not get distracted…” — Bonnie H. Cordon, Young Women General President

In light of that we’re wondering…
1.There’s no such thing as people being divine. Only God is divine and since we’ll never become a god her words are blasphemous.
2.Why would someone need to study a patriarchal blessing?
These things are nothing more than a modern-day form of fortune telling which is witchcraft. For more info see Melissa Grimes’ insight on her blessing, and a copy of her ‘blessing’.
3.Why didn’t Ms. Cordon use any biblical references regarding a so-called divine destiny, or the Lord telling us to follow the advice of a man?
Typically, those who dole out these blessings don’t know the recipient for whom they’re praying over. As you can see in Melissa’s example, they didn’t know her very well either. Ironically, most everyone in the Church that receives these things are told they belong to the Tribe of Ephraim. See Patriarchal Blessings and what the Lord has to say.
Lastly, she told these young people not to be distracted but she’s distracted them by pointing to other things that have nothing to do with the God of the Bible.
Please, pray for those who listened to the lies, and for Jesus to reveal the truth to them!
With Love in Christ —
Michelle

Wow, Melissa’s ancestors are grateful for the work Melissa is doing (or others are doing for dead people). Blasphemy. Dead people are dead. Gen 6:17 tells us God shut the door behind Noah. No one else could get it. No second chances. Aesop had nothing on Joe Smith and the boys.
I had a blessing, too. I was directed to work hard on my geneology and get a college education. BYU, here I came and I got that degree. I took a geneology class and that was the end of that. Jesus is my Lord and Savior. That’s all I need to know.
Amen, amen, amen!!! So grateful you got out to share your insights here! PTL!
Wish I could proofread better…..After God shut the door of the Ark behind Noah, no one else could get IN. That makes more sense.
Well you’re in good company there – I can’t count the typos I’ve made! 🙂
Ephesians 1:3- Blessed be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with ALL spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Our blessings come directly from God Himself, not a sinful man.
I’ve read and heard many patriarchs recycle their blessings, and many who’ve been in the same ward find out their blessings are pretty much identical word for word.
My LDS friend has learned she probably won’t have children (naturally)…I wonder if she was told in her blessing she would have lots of kids. Although, there are several other ways to bring children into your family.
Thanks Sandra for sharing.
They have nothing to offer so it’s all done by rote. Although the patriarchs are spewing out their lies the whole scenario is sad for them as well.
