History of the Church 4:461 “The Prophet’s Estimate of the Book of Mormon. Sunday, 28. — … I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.” [emp. added]
Isaiah 40:8 “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”
Psalm 19:7 “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.”
There are more questions about the BoM than there are answers but today we’re focusing on just one topic. The Word of Wisdom.
Why isn’t there anything in the BoM about this all-important commandment? For a quick history lesson on how the WoW came to be see Mormon Dilemma 665 we published in 2013.
If the BoM is the most correct book on earth and men can get closer to God by it, why is it we only hear crickets?
Be sure to ask a Mormon for their thoughts on this and don’t forget to pray!
With Love in Christ —

My two cents: No WoW in BoM b/c Emma was getting sick and tired of the (holy) men meeting in her home, missing the spittoon and leaving a mess for her to clean up. Lo and behold, Joe was given a directive…..not by his god but by his wife…Stop the spitting or take your business outside. Why doesn’t the church compile all the ‘revelations’ prophets have had since Joe, and make them required reading for a temple recommend, or something?
If the Church did such a thing, they’d have their hands full with sending out the papers showing people had requested their names be removed from their rosters. 🙁
