‘Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.’ Colossians 2:8
Today we’re looking at a topic we’ve discussed before — yoga.
The reason we’re discussing this again is because of what I found on the LDS Youth homepage. See LDS Youth Theme 2023 for more info.
In their utter contempt for the Lord and His word the Church decided to use Philippians 4:13 as a segue to introduce the theme for 2023 along with an image of stacking stones used in Yoga.
Their tactics are a brazen exposition of how they pretend to be a spiritually safe place for kids. Shame on them!
As a reminder here’s what it says in Philippians 4:13 —
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
The obvious question must be asked…
How can you rely on Christ if you’re using a stack of rocks to spiritually realign yourself? Are you relying on Christ or the so-called eternal deity each rock represents?
What about God’s warning in Leviticus 26:1 —
‘Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the Lord your God.’
Be sure to check out the article we wrote on the dangers of stone stacking. It’s a short read on how it works and how God strictly forbids this idolatry. LDS Using Yoga Symbol Lacks Discernment.
Another admonition LDS leaders should take heed of also comes from the Lord. Remember, their target audience consists of kids from the ages of 12-18 –
‘But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.’ Matthew 18:6
Please pray for the most vulnerable in this church. They’ve been led to believe they must follow their prophet and as many LDS kids do, they believe the lies.
With Love in Christ —
Michelle
[…] Yoga Symbol Used for LDS Youth Theme […]
Wow! What a mean spirited anti-Christian website you have. Full of hate and deception.
Wow, back at you Anonymous,
Can you please elaborate how this article is “mean spirited”? This site has been called “Anti-Mormon”, but I’m not sure about “anti-Christian”.
Is it mean spirited to warn Christian’s about the dangers of yoga?
Perhaps you may not know but yoga is deeply rooted in Hinduism and New Age. Each stretch, pose, posture, and breath, are knowingly, or unknowingly offered to the 330 million gods of Hinduism. As Christians we should abstain from things offered to idols.
I would really appreciate your thoughts, as I think you totally misunderstood this article. And that’s ok because I don’t think most people truly understand what yoga actually represents. Most, just see it as a form of exercise/therapy.

Actually, the LDS youth theme has to do with rock cairns not yoga symbols.
“The visual of the rock cairn”
Casey Griffiths, associate teaching professor in Church history and doctrine, said it is important for all of God’s children, but especially young people, to know that the Savior has already walked the path of mortality and understands trials and left behind markers to help along the way: “I love that the visual for our theme [in 2023] is a rock cairn. When a person is out hiking often they will see that park rangers or other hikers will place small cairns of rocks to mark the path forward. If the trail became difficult to see, you could always find these cairns so that you would know you are on the right track. A lot of fear and anxiety over getting lost is relieved because these thoughtful hikers left a marker for you.
“In the same way the Savior has left guides for us so that we don’t become lost on the pathways of mortality. Sometimes the markers left for us are the lives of our friends and loved ones who have made good choices through living the commandments. Sometimes the markers are the teachings of the men and women the Lord has called to lead His Church.
“One of the most important markers is the very words and deeds of Jesus Christ recorded in ancient and modern scripture. Christ doesn’t remove us from the path or make the path easy because we need the journey to grow spiritually and become the people we are meant to be, but He can strengthen us to climb the hills we need to climb, and His perfect life marks the path that we all need to take to find Him again. It can become easy to feel lost in the wilderness of our lives with all the different voices pulling us in different directions, enticing us to wander off the path. But the markers left by the Savior and His disciples show us the true way to joy in this life and eternal life where we can live again with our heavenly parents. He is cheering for us to succeed in our journey and help others find the right path as well.
“Attending Church meetings, seminary and For the Strength of Youth conferences are great ways for us to learn what these markers look like, how to use them in our journey, or to get back on the covenant path if we have wandered away.”
