General Conference, ‘The Greatest Story Ever Told,’ April 2023 “In addition to verses about Easter in the New Testament, Latter-day Saints have “perhaps the most magnificent Easter scriptures in all of Christianity” — the Book of Mormon account of the resurrected Christ’s visit to the new world.
“In reality, the Book of Mormon shares the greatest Easter story ever told. Let it not be the greatest Easter story never told. I invite you to look at the Book of Mormon in a new light and consider the profound witness it bears of the reality of the risen Christ as well as the richness and depth of the doctrine of Christ. …” — LDS Apostle, Gary E. Stevenson
Matthew 24:4 “And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.”
Every year I hold out for the hope that I’ll witness the miracle of LDS leaders denouncing their ungodly canon; the Book of Mormon.
At various times they’ve admitted it’s not a true story, but it’s never been at a GC.
This year one of their apostles encouraged people to give the BoM another try by reading about their version of Jesus’ resurrection in 3 Nephi Chapter 11.
For those not familiar with the context – this is when Jesus supposedly appeared to the Nephites after His resurrection and an entire multitude took turns putting their fingers into the holes where He was pierced. See link above and our 2017 post on this.
It’s obvious Mr. Stevenson had no intention of explaining how the BoM story could be better than the NT. In addition to degrading the Lord’s perfect word, they’ve also shown how the claims in their BoM is a huge lie. Here in part is what we wrote in 2017 —
‘Ask the Mormon if they believe Jesus would go through all of this again on a different continent. Think about it. Assuming a multitude consists of say 1,000 people, it’s been estimated that if each person took one minute to thrust their hands into all His scars, that’d come up to 60 per hour. If they did this for 8 straight hours with no bathroom breaks, or breaks for eating, etc., only 480 would examine Him in an 8-hour day. Does this sound realistic?’
Please pray for Jesus to prompt LDS members to question the sensational lies in their false gospel; and denounce their false apostle!
With Love in Christ —
Michelle
