Mormon God Allows False Doctrine

Bruce R. McConkie, Letter written by Bruce McConkie to Mr. Eugene England dated February 19, 1981 “I do not know all of the providences of the Lord, but I do know that he permits false doctrine to be taught in and out of the Church and that such teaching is part of the sifting process of mortality.”

Jude 1:4 “For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Where in the Bible does it say that God allows false doctrine to come into the Church so God can “sift” the bad folks out?

I’ve only been a Christian for 31 years and well aware that I’m still learning, however, I’ve never seen anything in the Bible telling us God allows false doctrines into His church.

I’ve also seen many incidents in the Bible warning us to beware of false christs, teachers and doctrines.

You can read more on this at Eugene England’s site and Bill McKeever’s analysis.

We’re praying the Mormon people will think upon this and other scenarios like it. The most important thing in this life is to know Jesus Christ. Would Jesus tell people the teachings of past prophets aren’t compatible with His teachings?

With Love in Christ —

Michelle
