Light of Christ Comes from Sun, Moon and Stars

June 25 — Joseph Smith: Light of Christ Comes from Sun, Moon and Stars. D&C 88:7-10 “Which truth shineth. This is the light of Christ. As also he is in the sun, and the light of the sun, and the power thereof by which it was made. 8 As also he is in the moon, and is the light of the moon, and the power thereof by which it was made; 9 As also the light of the stars, and the power thereof by which they were made; 10 And the earth also, and the power thereof, even the earth upon which you stand.”

Revelation 4:11 “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”

Jesus is the Creator, not part of the creation.

He doesn’t live in the sun, moon, stars or earth.

Deuteronomy 4:19 says to be careful not to look at creation and think you can worship these things.

“And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.”

And of course, we have Jesus who said I am the Light of the World. It was the second of the seven I AM declarations He made during His short time on earth. John 8:12

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

This isn’t meant to say that He lives in the sun, rather it’s an allegory explaining that He us the source of spiritual knowledge.

Please share the truth with a Mormon and let them know Jesus doesn’t live in the sun, moon or stars! With demonstrative evidence from the Bible patiently share the difference between these two examples.

With Love in Christ —

Michelle
