The Miracle of Forgiveness, p. 206 “One of the most fallacious doctrines originated by Satan and propounded by man is that man is saved alone by the grace of God; that belief in Jesus Christ alone is all that is needed for salvation.” — Spencer W. Kimball

Several days ago, Melissa Brown mentioned on our blog that the Church came out with their own version of the song ‘Amazing Grace’. I told her that we’d be posting about this and so here we go!
I made a side-by-side chart comparing the Christian and LDS version you can read below.
Two things came to mind about this –
You’ll notice how the Church left out the last verse that says when we’ve been there 10,000 yrs…we’ll have no less days to sing His praise.
Do they not want to sing praises to God?
Did they leave it out because they think they’ll be their own god, and it’d scare members into wondering why they have to wait so long to be a forever family and become a god?
Please, pray for members to open their hearts and minds to truth!
With Love in Christ –

| 1.Amazing grace—how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found, Was blind, but now I see. |
1 Amazing grace, how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost, but now I’m found Was blind, but now I see |
| 2.The Lord has promised good to me;
His word my hope secures. He will my shield and portion be As long as life endures. |
2 ‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear And grace my fears relieved How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed |
| 3.Through many dangers, toils, and snares
I have already come. His grace has brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home. |
3 Through many dangers, toils, and snares We have already come ‘Twas grace that brought us safe thus far And grace will lead us home |
| 4 When we’ve been there ten thousand years Bright shining as the sun We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise Than when we’ve first begun Than when we’ve first begun |
