“A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” James 1:8
HOWEVER…the Church has published another account of Smith’s testimony.
_____
Excerpt from an 1832 account of the First Vision by Joseph Smith Jr. “Thus, from the age of twelve years to fifteen I pondered many things in my heart concerning the situation of the world of mankind, the contentions and divisions, the wickedness and abominations, and the darkness which pervaded the minds of mankind.
My mind became exceedingly distressed, for I became convicted of my sins, and by searching the scriptures I found that mankind did not come unto the Lord but that they had apostatized from the true and living faith, and there was no society or denomination that was built upon the gospel of Jesus Christ as recorded in the New Testament.
I felt to mourn for my own sins and for the sins of the world, for I learned in the scriptures that God was the same yesterday, today, and forever, that he was no respecter of persons, for he was God.”
_____
Mark 3:25 “And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.”
_____
So which version of the latest JS testimony are we supposed to believe? While God is indeed the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8) Joe Smith’s god is anything but. Furthermore, the last thing they said in Smith’s testimony ‘he was God’. That’s wrong. He is always God.
Please pray for the Mormon people and remind them of what Jesus said in Matthew 12:35
“A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.”
With Love in Christ –
