BYU Professor Advocated Segregation

 February 26 — Race Problems – As They Affect The Church, Convention of Teachers of Religion on the College Level, Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah, August 27, 1954, p. 19 “Now we are generous with the Negro. We are willing that the Negro have the highest education. I would be willing to let every Negro drive a Cadillac if they could afford it. I would be willing that they have all the advantages they can get out of life in the world. But let them enjoy these things among themselves. I think the Lord segregated the Negro and who is man to change that segregation? It reminds me of the scripture on marriage, ‘what God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.’ Only here we have the reverse of the thing – what God hath separated, let not man bring together again.” — Elder Mark E. Petersen

Ten years after the US Congress passed the Civil Rights Act on July 2, 1964, we see Mark Petersen still trying to push racial segregation. First of all, Mr. Petersen shouldn’t be teaching these things but more importantly he was racist which is totally unbiblical.

Comments that he’d let ‘all negroes drive a Cadillac’ has no place in the vocabulary of a true Christian! Shame, shame, shame on him!

As I’ve said many times before the Church hasn’t changed their ways and the Book of Mormon is proof. Until they completely repent and denounce their doctrines they can’t be considered a Christian organization.

Pray for Mormons to see the blatant racism in their beloved canon even if they haven’t heard of Mr. Petersen’s talk.
