Mothers who know honor sacred ordinances and covenants. I have visited sacrament meetings in some of the poorest places on the earth where mothers have dressed with great care in their Sunday best despite walking for miles on dusty streets and using worn-out public transportation. They bring daughters in clean and ironed dresses with hair brushed to perfection; their sons wear white shirts and ties and have missionary haircuts. … Mothers who know are nurturers. … Another word for nurturing is homemaking. Homemaking includes cooking, washing clothes and dishes, and keeping an orderly home.” — Julie S. Beck

Matthew 22:36-40 “Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

Ms. Beck’s talk has to be one of the worst things I’ve ever read. May the Lord have mercy on this woman.
Every believer knows the bible passage above. You don’t have to be a mom or dad to know the Lord comes first in everything. While it’s not a bad thing to want children, what she said is the mindset of many women in Mormonism. I know this because I walked in those shoes for thirty years. Believe me when I say it’s exhausting.
The sad part is that I was totally unaware of what Jesus said in Matthew’s gospel. I highly doubt He’s wondering why your son doesn’t have a missionary haircut or that your daughter isn’t wearing a freshly ironed dress. Jesus came here to pay for our sins, not your housekeeping — John 3:16-17.
Ms. Beck may have said this twenty years ago, but the mantra of the Church is still same. They don’t want to look to Jesus, rather, their focus is on themselves.
Please pray they look to Him and open their bibles!
With Love in Christ —
