Contradictions and Interesting Facts of the 3-in-1

The “3-in-1” is a compilation of the Mormon canon which consists of the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price.

Today the Church also has what they call “The Quad” which is the three works noted above in addition to the KJV Bible. (They only “believe in the Bible as far as it is translated correctly”.)

The Book of Mormon is what Mormons consider to be a sacred work written by a lost tribe of Israel who left Jerusalem in 600 BC at the beginning of the Babylonian takeover of Israel. This lost tribe of Israelites sailed to America, split off in two major tribes (Nephites & Lamanites) and warred with each other for about a thousand years until all of the righteous Nephites died off.

The Doctrine and Covenants is a collection of prophecies to the Mormon people instructing them on how to live a righteous life so they can live up to their god’s expectations. Most of the prophecies were given to and proclaimed by Joseph Smith with the exception of the last three (sections 135-138).

The Pearl of Great Price contains a handful of Mormon scripture, one of which supposedly was translated from ancient Egyptian papyri (Book of Abraham), Book of Moses is a set of revelations Smith received from God & Joseph Smith’s History, Joseph Smith’s translation of the first chapter of Matthew’s gospel and the Thirteen Articles of Faith which is something of a declaration of their mission statement.

Our focus with the 3-in-1 was to show contradictions found in their canon and the Bible to use as a witnessing tool when you meet with your Mormon friends and loved ones.  You can read our findings in the articles below.
