Greek and Latin in the Book of Mormon

We gathered a few of our ministry supporters, rolled up our sleeves and spent some pain-staking hours counting and marking all the Greek and Latin words we could find in the Book of Mormon.

And if that wasn’t exciting enough, (major eye-roll) we put all of our findings in a chart just so we could share it with the Mormons in our lives or the next missionary that shows up on the front doorstep.  Woo-hoo!

With all sarcasm aside, I want to convey how this broke our hearts. While our task seems mundane, the truth is that Joseph Smith lied. He guaranteed there were no Greek or Latin words found on the golden plates of Mormonism.

Since the translation of the plates came out in 1611 KJV English and the Church can’t produce the plates for the public to see, we’re left with looking at the “translated” words we find in the Book of Mormon today.

We counted over 7,200 words.  The means he lied over 7,200 times to everyone that’s ever read his version of the gosopel.
