It also listed 2 other key Mormon doctrines from LDS canon that had no connection to what the topic was supposed to be. One item focused on the stones the brother of Jared saw while building the barge for the Jaredites. Overall, this lesson led to confusion.
February 2016 Visiting Teaching Message
The VT Message this month encouraged leaders to share with members that even if they’re ‘denied the blessing of marriage’, they can still participate in God’s overall plan by endorsing His commandments. Being ‘denied the blessing’ of marriage included same-sex attraction, those who are divorced, the lack of good prospects, etc.
This seems to be a lesson on veiled attempts of guilting members into obedience to the Mormon god.
