Necromancy in Mormon Temples

Journal of Discourses 19:229-230; “The dead will be after you, they will seek after you as they have after us in St. George. They called upon us, knowing that we held the keys and power to redeem them. I will here say, before closing, that two weeks before I left St. George, the spirits of the dead gathered around me, wanting to know why we did not redeem them.” – Wilford Woodruff

 

 

Deuteronomy 18:9-14; “When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. 13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God. 14 For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.”

www.dictionary.com defines necromancy this way:

Necromancy: a method of divination through alleged communication with the dead; black art. Magic in general, especially that practiced by a witch or sorcerer; sorcery; witchcraft; conjuration”.

This is one of those times for me and Mormonism when I feel so sad.  My heart is filled with abhorrence to what the leaders say and do and despair that this is what Mormonism is really all about.  Black art, sorcery.  How very sad and how very scary.

Pray for a Mormon today that they will open their eyes to this dark truth and how satanic this “restored gospel” really is.
