November 26 – Is Salvation Only Through Mormonism? Romans 14:17-20 “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men. Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.”

Testimonies of Mormons
“No testimony is more significant to us in our time than the witness of Joseph Smith.” – Robert Hales, Ensign, Nov. 2009, p. 30.
Melissa Grimes and I originally wrote and posted this article in 2011. The reason we’re reposting it today is because it reminded us of a talk given by Paul Johnson at the October 2022 General Conference.
We’ll be looking at what he said in the next few days. For now, you can read the original article below or at Testimonies of Mormons.
If you’ve been around enough Mormons in life you’re sure to have noticed the way they talk about their faith; their testimonies are all the same. There are a lot of things the Mormons are taught to do and not to do in their daily lives which is a way to control their thoughts and strip their identity as a unique individual away from them.
Plan of Salvation Mormon Dilemma 149

Plan of Salvation
“In the premortal existence, Heavenly Father prepared a plan to enable us to become like Him and receive a fulness of joy. The scriptures refer to this plan as “the plan of salvation” (Alma 24:14; Moses 6:62), “the great plan of happiness” (Alma 42:8), “the plan of redemption” (Jacob 6:8; Alma 12:30), and “the plan of mercy” (Alma 42:15). The plan of salvation is the fulness of the gospel. It includes the Creation, the Fall, the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and all the laws, ordinances, and doctrines of the gospel. Moral agency, the ability to choose and act for ourselves, is also essential in Heavenly Father’s plan. Because of this plan, we can be perfected through the Atonement, receive a fulness of joy, and live forever in the presence of God. Our family relationships can last throughout the eternities.” – LDS Gospel Topics, Plan of Salvation

The Many Keys of Salvation
Mosiah 3: 18 “For behold he judgeth, and his judgment is just; and the infant perisheth not that dieth in his infancy; but men drink damnation to their own souls except they humble themselves and become as little children, and believe that salvation was, and is, and is to come, in and through the atoning blood of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent.”

Holy Ghost not Essential to Salvation
Doctrines of Salvation 1:39 “I have never troubled myself about the Holy Ghost whether he will sometime have a body or not because it is not in any way essential to my salvation. He is a member of the Godhead, with great power and authority, with a most wonderful mission which must be performed by a spirit. This has satisfied me without delving into mysteries that would be of no particular benefit.” – Joseph Fielding Smith

Mormon Dilemma 80
According to the LDS Church What is a Cult?
In Mormon Doctrine, pp. 174 & 699, Bruce McConkie defined a cult as “sects”.
Under the sects section it says; “See APOSTASY, CHRISTIANITY, CREEDS, FIRST VISION, HARLOTS. Division and dissension, contention, confusion and discord — these are among the prevailing characteristics of the sects of Christendom.”
Joseph Smith’s ‘Authority’ to Hold Priesthood

Today we’re taking another look at the self-proclaimed authority Joseph Smith bestowed upon himself. Above all things, don’t forget to pray for Jesus to open the eyes of Mormons who’ve fallen for the trickeries of Mr. Smith. The following article was originally published in 2015 and still a great tool to show how Smith had no authority at all.
How did Joseph Smith receive the authority to hold the keys of priesthood?
This question should be one of the most important questions to ask the Mormon people. The LDS Church says that “priesthood is power” so this means they view themselves as the only authority to speak for and act in behalf of God.
I had the privilege of asking my dear friend Ed Decker to write a chapter in my mentoring handbook and so we’re answering our dilemma question today with Ed’s contribution!
