Missing Priesthood

1 Nephi 5:9 “And it came to pass that they did rejoice exceedingly, and did offer sacrifice and burnt offerings unto the Lord; and they gave thanks unto the God of Israel.”

Mosiah 2:3 “And they also took of the firstlings of their flocks, that they might offer sacrifice and burnt offerings according to the law of Moses.” (more…)

Discourses of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pp. 112-113 “… who can describe an angel of light? If Satan should appear as one in glory, who can tell his color, his signs, his appearance, his glory—or what is the manner of his manifestation?

Who can drag into daylight and develop the hidden mysteries of the false spirits that so frequently are made manifest among the Latter-day Saints?

We answer that no man can do this without the Priesthood…A man must have the discerning of spirits before he can drag into daylight this hellish influence and unfold it unto the world in all its soul-destroying, diabolical, and horrid colors; for nothing is a greater injury to the children of men than to be under the influence of a false spirit when they think they have the Spirit of God. History of the Church 4:571581.” (more…)

April 9 – Hebrews 5:4; Ex. 28:1; 40:13-6; “And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.  And take unto thee Aaron they brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron’s sons.   And thou shalt put upon Aaron the holy garments, and anoint him, and sanctify him; that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office. And thou shalt bring his sons, and clothe them with coats: And thou shalt anoint them, as thou didst anoint their father, that they may minister unto me in the priest’s office: for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations. Thus did Moses: according to all that the LORD commanded him, so did he.”

April 2 – Hebrews 5:4-10; “And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.  So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, THOU ART MY SON, TO DAY HAVE I BEGOTTEN THEE.  As he saith also in another place, THOU ART A PRIEST FOR EVER AFTER THE ORDER OF MELCHISEDEC.  Who in the day of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Called of God an high priest AFTER THE ORDER OF MELCHISEDEC.”

Answers to Gospel Questions 1:169; “If Abraham, Joseph, and Moses had married Negro wives their descendants would have been denied the priesthood according to the word of the Lord to Abraham. (Abraham 1:21-27.) Had such a thing happened the Lord would not have called Israel as a chosen people, neither would he have chosen the Prophet Joseph Smith and given him the keys of authority for the Dispensation of the Fulness of Times, as he was a descendant of Joseph and of Abraham.” – Joseph Fielding Smith

November 13 – Twisting scripture for personal gain. Hebrews 7:1-4; ‘For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;  To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;  Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.  Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.’

On August 8, 2017, the LDS website featured a 3 minute video on their front page called, ‘Where are the Keys?’. As an FYI, the main target audience is directed at the youth of the Church.

As  you might imagine, the video is also filled with the usual mantra one would expect from the Church, but what struck me is the claim their apostle Gary Stevenson made towards the end of their video. You can find it at 2.04 minutes in.

After explaining that we can’t get into heaven without their priesthood keys, Mr. Stevenson pointed out another unbiblical doctrine about their god.

John 4:14, 24; “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

visiting-teaching-message The Visiting Teaching Message for January 2017 focused on the purpose of the Relief Society while using three biblical passages.

Linda K. Burton, Relief Society General President, told members their purpose was to “prepare women for the blessings of eternal life”. That sounds interesting, however, nothing in the lesson explained what those blessings in the eternal bliss would entail.

Feasts of IsraelToday we’re looking in the Book of Mormon for the all elusive seven feasts the Lord ordained in the OT. This article stems from my search in the Book of Mormon looking for the word Passover or any other feasts we read about in the Old Testament, What I discovered is that you won’t find the word ‘Passover’ mentioned in the Book of Mormon, nor will you find any other feast or festival being observed or even spoken of during their days in Jerusalem.

Classes for Mormon Children and Youth

CTR SymbolTo start off, it’s important to note Sunday services for members of the Mormon Church are broken down into segments. They have Sacrament Meetings, Sunday school, and then Relief Society or Priesthood meetings. The youth go to their prospective classes as well. Young Men classes, or Young Women classes, and for the children there are Primary meetings. After the Sacrament service is finished the congregation breaks up with everyone going to their applicable classes.

Mormon Priesthood Enlarges the Soul

I’m often asked by Mormon missionaries where I get my authority from to preach the gospel.  What is so sad about this situation is the demeanor these boys come to my home with.  They’ve been taught and now believe, they are the only people with the authority to go on a mission, preach the gospel and decipher who’s telling the truth.

It’s sad to me they don’t read their bibles and when they do they’re not sure which parts are true because again, they’ve been taught and believe, it’s been mistranslated.

Authority to Preach

History of the Church 5:256-7; Whenever there has been a righteous man on earth unto whom God revealed His word and gave power and authority to administer in His name, and where there is a priest of God—a minister who has power and authority from God to administer in the ordinances of the gospel and officiate in the priesthood of God, there is the kingdom of God; and, in consequence of rejecting the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Prophets whom God hath sent, the judgments of God have rested upon people, cities, and nations, in various ages of the world, which was the case with the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, that were destroyed for rejecting the Prophets.” – Joseph Smith
