Galatians 1:6-9; “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”
The Mormon Missionary Discussions engineered by the LDS Church is a unique tool used by the 50,000+ missionaries sent out Stateside, and abroad.
Lessons are scripted so the missionary won’t be at a loss for words, nor is he/she in danger of teaching something the Church wouldn’t approve.
Each week’s lesson is built upon another, leading to the Church’s ultimate goal; baptism, which in turn leads to another tithe payer. It’s expected the way in which the missionary delivers the message will evoke an urgent desire in the investigator to be baptized.
Melissa’s experience of personally meeting with the missionaries, going through the lessons herself, and becoming a convert to the faith, has given her valuable insight she has shared to warn others of the dangers.
We’ll be adding another lesson each week, so come back often for updates! Thus far, she’s written the intro, and the first three lessons missionaries present to investigators.
Mormon Missionary Discussions – Intro
Mormon Missionary Discussions – Part 1
The plan of our Heavenly Father. Investigators are introduced to the six principles of Mormonism which includes brief lessons of Joe Smith, the Mormon god, and their Jesus, the Holy Ghost, and the Book of Mormon.
Mormon Missionary Discussions – Part 2
The gospel of Jesus Christ – This week investigators are taught the first principles and ordinances of the Mormon gospel. Investigators are encouraged to make a commitment to the Church, and set a date for baptism.
Mormon Missionary Discussions – Part 3
The Restoration – This is the week investigators are expected to make a commitment to be baptized, but there’s still 3 weeks of their lessons left so what’s the rush?
Mormon Missionary Discussions – Part 4
Why does the Church still use the term ‘Eternal Progression’ in their teaching manuals like this one, when they’ve claimed they don’t do this?
Mormon Missionary Discussions – Part 5
Discussion 5 – Living a Christlike Life. This week’s lesson is when missionaries tell investigators they need to live righteously, and by that they mean performing good works.
Mormon Missionary Discussions Part 6
Mormons are very concerned about remaining worthy to attend the temple, there is nothing more important to them. In doing so they miss out on what Jesus has done for them. He died on the cross so that we wouldn’t have worry about working toward perfection and salvation. As we learn in Romans 3:10, “there is none righteous, no, not one:”.
