‘…And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.’ Acts 11:26

January 17 — Liahona and Ensign, November 2012 “A Christian has faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is the literal Son of God, sent by His Father to suffer for our sins in the supreme act of love we know as the Atonement.

Through the scriptures and the witness of Joseph Smith, we know that God, our Heavenly Father, has a glorified and perfected body of flesh and bone. Jesus Christ is His Only Begotten Son in the flesh. The Holy Ghost is a personage of spirit whose work is to testify of the Father and the Son. The Godhead is three separate and distinct beings, unified in purpose.

With these doctrines as the foundation of our faith, can there be any doubt or disputation that we, as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, are Christian?” — Robert D. Hales, Being a More Christian Christian (more…)

December 8 — It’s nice to see there are people in the media who acknowledges that Mormonism is not Christianity. And sometimes it’s even surprising to find out that news sources you didn’t think would care actually take an objective view and tell the truth.

Thank You Jesus!

For a great article on basic differences between Mormonism and Christianity you can read Bethany Blankley’s article in the Huffington Post. (more…)

January 1 — 4 Lies From Moroni. Moroni 8:12 “But little children are alive in Christ, even from the foundation of the world; if not so, God is a partial God, and also a changeable God, and a respecter to persons; for how many little children have died without baptism!” (more…)

September 6 — No Forgiveness for Thief on the Cross. Miracle of Forgiveness, p. 164 “Another mistaken idea is that the thief on the cross was forgiven of his sins when the dying Christ answered: “Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.” (Luke 23:43.) These men on the cross were thieves. How could the Lord forgive a malefactor? They had broken laws. There was no doubt of the guilt of the two men, for the one voluntarily confessed their guilt. The Lord cannot save men in their sins but only from their sins, and that only when they have shown true repentance.” (more…)

August 30 — Apostasy?…Not Exactly. Answers to Gospel Questions 2:45 “…the Lord, of necessity, has kept authorized servants on the earth bearing the priesthood from the days of Adam to the present time; in fact, there has never been a moment from the beginning that there were not men on the earth holding the Holy Priesthood. (Moses 5:59.)

Even in the days of apostasy, and apostasy has occurred several times, the Lord never surrendered this earth and permitted Satan to have complete control. Even when the great apostasy occurred following the death of the Savior’s apostles, our Father in heaven held control and had duly authorized servants on the earth to direct his work and to check, to some extent at least, the ravages and corruption of the evil powers. These servants were not permitted to organize the Church nor to officiate in the ordinances of the gospel, but they did check the advances of evil as far as the Lord deemed it necessary.” – Joseph Fielding Smith, Jr. (more…)

August 13 — Reverence for Joseph Smith Required. “A Choice Seer,” Ensign, Aug. 1986 “Ages ago in the Great Council, Jesus was the prepared but meek Volunteer. As the Father described the plan of salvation and the need for a Savior, it was Jesus who stepped forward and said humbly but courageously, ‘Here am I, send me.’ (Abr. 3:27; see also Moses 4:2.) Never has anyone offered to do so much for so many with so few words!

“It is through the Prophet Joseph Smith, whom the resurrected Jesus called, that we learn these things and so much more about Jesus–long before Bethlehem and well beyond Calvary.

“Whenever we speak of the Prophet Joseph Smith, therefore, it should be in reverent appreciation of the Lord who called him and whom Joseph served so well.” – Neal A. Maxwell (more…)

January 16 — Are Mormons True Christians? Today we’re looking at a subject in the Gospel Topic Section of the LDS website.

I’ve become quite enamored with how the Bible provides answers to topics that speak directly to contemporary issues for us today. It’s a reminder that God obviously knew beforehand!

Notice in their statement they make the accusation that sincere seekers of truth will accept their variant belief.

What the LDS Church ignores is that freedom to worship as you please don’t mean you’re exempt from following rules. If you’re not worshiping the right Jesus, it still means you’re not Christian, regardless of what freedoms you may or may not have.

Pray for God to open their hearts to this truth! (more…)
