Strength Comes ONLY from Ordinances, not God

As an update to this post – I somehow forgot to include some verses about finding strength in the Lord – yikes!
Psalm 28:7-8, 37:39, 59:9; Exodus 15:2; Isaiah 45:24…and the list goes on!
TheChurchNews.com “The word that defines counsel and direction from President Nelson during general conference — ‘faith’ …
Temples are a vital part of the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ in its fulness,” he said. “Ordinances of the temple fill our lives with power and strength — available in no other way. We thank God for those blessings.” — Russell Nelson [emp. added] (more…)

Lies in Latest Liahona Reveal Nothing was Restored

An article in the January 2020 Liahona contained a weekly lesson for the LDS ‘Come Follow Me’ series they’re doing in their studies for the Book of Mormon. The lies they feed to the youth group is heartbreaking. They know these are lies and yet they keep telling the same story.
What caught our attention was the image of someone, or something, floating around in the clouds with the caption underneath stating –
In a vision, Nephi saw that many of the teachings in the Bible would be changed over time but that God would prepare a way for those truths to be restored (see 1 Nephi 13:26–40). (more…)
The Mystery Angel on LDS Temples

“Behold the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people because of them that dwell in a far country: Is not the LORD in Zion? is not her king in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, and with strange vanities?” Jeremiah 8:19
Over the next week or so we’ll be taking a look at statements LDS Church leaders have made about some of the carved images plastered on walls of their temples, both inside and out.
Today we’re looking at their crown jewel, if you will, that being Moroni, their angel of light.
The reason for our look at this is because of the conflicting messages I kept coming across while researching info for something totally unrelated. The subtle inconsistencies about Moroni’s place in Mormonism soon became blatant contradictions.
While it may seem inconsequential, we believe there’s more to the story in the contradictory messages the Church puts out. And we have no doubt they do this on purpose.
So who is Moroni anyway? Was this from God, or man? As you’ll see in their publications their story is all over the board… (more…)
Mormon Missionary Discussions – Part 3

The Restoration
Once again before getting into the discussion, missionaries are to ask the investigators for a commitment to be baptized.
In the instructions missionaries read it says –
“If the investigators have not yet committed themselves to be baptized or have not yet attended Church meetings, these commitments must be among your major objectives for this discussion.”
At this point and even prior to it, investigators are expected to make a commitment to the church before they have been presented with all the information necessary to make an informed decision. This is only discussion three, there are three more lessons they must have before they are baptized, what’s the hurry? Why do they need a commitment so soon? These are just a couple of questions that have come to mind as I’ve started this series.
Joseph Smith’s Recreant Christian ‘Restoration’

1 Corinthians 15:1-4; “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures”.
Check out the words of Brigham Young –
Journal of Discourses, 6:280–281; “Every item of doctrine brother Joseph has brought forth had to meet with opposition from the world. We all know that it comes in contact with sectarian influence and every other influence that is not direct from God. … You can understand, from the few remarks I make with regard to the Gospel, that many things which were revealed through Joseph came in contact with our own prejudices: We did not know how to understand them. I refer to myself for an instance. … My traditions were such, that when the Vision came first to me, it was directly contrary and opposed to my former education.” – Brigham Young, Great Salt Lake City, August 29, 1852
The article referenced above is the first in a two part series the Church published in 1989, and today we’re taking a look at a few of things they said about Smith’s ‘restoration’ of original Christianity. The article was written by Donald Q. Cannon, Larry E. Dahl, and John W. Welch.
I pray you hear me out on this because if this submission of the Church isn’t the most important thing they’ve ever published, nothing else qualifies. Ever.

Joseph Smith History 1:18-19; “My object in going to inquire of the Lord was to know which of all the sects was right, that I might know which to join…19 I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.””

Where’s Jesus?
Joseph Smith claimed his church is a restoration of the church that existed during the days of the apostles so we’re taking a look at his claim and what the Bible says about it.
Acts 3:19-23; “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; 20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: 21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. 22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. 23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.”
