Brigham’s Speech on Slavery, February 5, 1852, LDS Church Historical Dept “Let this Church which is called the kingdom of God on the earth;… [say] we will summons the first presidency, the twelve, the high counsel, the Bishopric, and all the elders of Israel, suppose we summons them to appear here, and here declare that it is right to mingle our seed with the black race of Cain, that they shall come in with us and be partakers with us of all the blessings God had given to us. On that very day and hour we should do so, the priesthood is taken from this Church and kingdom and God leaves us to our fate. The moment we consent to mingle with the seed of Cain the Church must go to destruction, we should receive the curse which has been placed upon the seed of Cain, and never more be numbered with the children of Adam who are heirs to the priesthood until that curse be removed.” – Brigham Young

Our original posting of ‘Moroni for Your Christmas Tree’ was first published back in 2012. Since that time we’ve visited the LDS Bookstore to see what other items they sell, and true to form they’ve not changed their ways.

While the tree topper is no longer available, we did notice this year they’re also offering a plastic form of the BoM Liahona which is similar to an 8 ball toy you can play and find your future. The other item we saw was a replica of the Golden Plates.

Below is the original posting of Moroni for Your Christmas Tree –

Please, pray for those who feel stuck in Mormonism for them to have the strength to leave for the REAL Jesus of the Bible! (more…)

“Then the Lord said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.” Jeremiah 14:14

The late prophet, Joseph Fielding Smith, boldly stated the Church must stand or fall on Smith’s story. He further proclaimed his uncle was either divinely called, or was one of the biggest frauds of this earth.

Today we’re looking at just one example of the fraud this man committed, and how leaders since that time continue to perpetuate his lies.

Doctrines of Salvation 1:188 “CHURCH STANDS OR FALLS WITH JOSEPH SMITH. Mormonism, as it is called, must stand or fall on the story of Joseph Smith. He was either a prophet of God, divinely called, properly appointed and commissioned, or he was one of the biggest frauds this world has ever seen. There is no middle ground.” — Joseph Fielding Smith, 1954-1956 (more…)

False prophecies A-Z!

Well you know it’s that time of year when our annual ‘Worst of the Worst’ Mormon quotes show up on the site!

This year we found a recurring theme taking place within Mormon leadership. We’re calling it anxiety.

It seems the overriding saga in the Church’s tone is trying to herd the group back into a fenceless pen. It’s painfully obvious their tactics are all for naught. The age of mass media with the internet has proven to be a formidable opponent.

Throughout the year many of their talks kept giving hidden references to past talks given by leaders reminding members not to question their authority and to stay away from outsider info about the Church, including ex-Mormons. In light of that, we posted the references for their original talk as well.

As the last several months have progressed since our last posting, it’s left no doubt they’re scrambling to save face. We found it quite disturbing how they keep delivering speeches disguised as devotionals to young adults warning them that info from anyone but the leaders is poisonous.

The following list is from a few of the most shocking things we’ve found over the past year. At the end of this article are the links for Worst of the Worst, 1 – 3!

I want to make something abundantly clear – we don’t post these things for shock value. Moreover, we don’t do this to bash the Mormon people.

I remember all too well what it felt like as a Mormon when someone was patronizing me because of my faith. I didn’t like it then, and 25+ yrs later, I still don’t.

As we’ve always stated, we do this for two reasons.

1.Inform and educate the Mormon people.

2.Warn the body of Christ about false teachers who still roam this earth.

We pray the following info is used in love for my people, and that the body of Christ will be ever diligent to pray!

With Love in Christ;

We’ve been republishing some older articles based on requests of readers who share the updated versions with family and friends, We pray it’s helpful to those who use them, but mostly that it brings glory to God, and puts focus on Him. Here we go!

UPDATE!! When we posted this on our Facebook page (7.13.19) it created a lot of traffic. One Mormon was quite adamant the FHE teaching was a lie from ‘anti-Mormons’. He also stated this wasn’t official Mormon doctrine, but was only a teaching of Mormonism.

This is why it’s important to always pray for those who are still believing these lies. My heart grieves for this man, and his family as well.

Interestingly enough, someone else posted they had taught this very lesson to the 11-12 yr old kids just four years ago (2015).

Originally published in 2014.

Today’s dilemma reminded me of God’s providence.  As I research and gather historical information about the teachings of the Church I’m reminded every day how I used to think and behave.

To say that I’m beyond grateful He rescued me from treacherous teachings like this one today would be one of many understatements of the year.

Investigating Mormonism?

“These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” Acts 17:11

We’ve updated our article, ‘Investigating Mormonism’ and thought it’d make a great witnessing tool for those who will be visiting friends/relatives over the summer months.

You can find lots of basic beliefs about Mormonism to ask your loved ones for their opinion on these classic LDS doctrines.

As an FYI,, you can find it at the top of our homepage on the right hand side…

For anyone thinking about joining Mormonism, we highly encourage a healthy investigation into their basic beliefs, as well as the history of the Church.

We thought we’d list a few of the beliefs to aid in your studies, so here we go!

We pray everyone will be as those in Thessalonica, and study to see if the things of Mormonism are what God has ordained!

With Love in Christ;

1 Cor 1:18

June 23 – Trading the real Jesus for a false Christ. John 1:1, 14; “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you,  he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” Romans 8:11

Today we’re looking at an excerpt in Wilford Woodruff’s Journal. The 4th president/prophet of the Church was a prolific author, and note keeper. His journals comprise events of the Church, and his private life over the course of almost six decades (1833 – 1898).

The reason we’re looking into the excerpt below is because of the numerous times it’s been used in church publications, LDS Seminary manuals, and publications of the LDS conferences. We found it in no less than four books written about Mormonism!

As we look at this today I want to be sure and reiterate the purpose of why we do this. We aren’t here to bash the Mormon people. We do this to inform the unknowing of the dangers Mormonism presents to those seeking a relationship with God. While reading over this my heart was sickened at the lies, and outright blasphemous theology these men propagated to the Mormon people. Mr. Woodruff’s meticulous notes of Brigham Young’s talk is a classic example of why they can’t be trusted.

Note: spelling is in original.

Journal of Wilford Woodruff 4:246-427Who will resurrect Josephs Body? It will be Peter, James, John, Moroni, or some one who has or will receive the keys of the resurrection. It will probably be one of those who hold the keys of this dispensation & has delivered them to Joseph and you will see Jesus and he will eat peaches & Apples with you. …

Leviticus 27:30 “And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s: it is holy unto the Lord.”

Last week we came across an interesting article on Reddit where someone posted a request for info on all the definitions for tithing the Church has used over the years.

He listed a few examples from LDS canon, and offered a small monetary reward if someone could add to his list. As you might imagine, the Church’s definition of tithes is all over the board. Today we’re comparing part of that list with God’s word.

One thing is certain. The Church has gone to great extremes in confusing its membership. Check out what they’ve said – (more…)

We posted the following article in 2015, but they still haven’t denounced this idolatrous teaching!

If you’re LDS, is this what you expect from your leaders?

Daily Journal of Abraham H. Cannon, April 15, 1894, v. 18, p. 70; “Father [George Q. Cannon] now spoke of the unfortunate condition of the people at present in regard to marriage…. ‘I believe in concubinage, or some plan whereby men and women can live together under sacred ordinances and vows until they can be married…. such a condition would have to be kept secret, until the laws of our government change to permit the holy order of wedlock which God has revealed, which will undoubtedly occur at no distant day, in order to correct the social evil….’

– Pres. Snow. ‘I have no doubt but concubinage will yet be practiced in this church, but I had not thought of it in this connection. When the nations are troubled good women will come here for safety and blessing, and men will accept them as concubines.’
– Pres. Woodruff: ‘If men enter into some practice of this character to raise a righteous posterity, they will be justified in it…’” (more…)

Whose blood paid for sins?   Psalms 21:1-7; “The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice! 2 Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah. 3 For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head. 4 He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever. 5 His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him. 6 For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance. 7 For the king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.”

2 Timothy 1:12; “For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.” (more…)

Yesterday we saw Russell Nelson proclaim his delight in Joe Smith’s insights regarding the Bible, and how they were ‘amazingly consistent’.

Today we’re wondering how Mr. Nelson would explain Smith’s false prophecy in calling God a liar…

The very foundation of Mormonism declares God’s word to be wrong, and therefore, all of Christianity has been worshiping the wrong God.

History of the Church 6:305-306 “It is necessary we should understand the character and being of God and how he came to be so; for I am going to tell you how God came to be God. We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea, and take away the veil, so that you may see.

These are incomprehensible ideas to some, but they are simple. It is the first principle of the Gospel to know for a certainty the Character of God, and to know that we may converse with him as one man converses with another, and that he was once a man like us; yea, that God himself, the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ himself did….

Here, then, is eternal life—to know the only wise and true God; and you have got to learn how to be gods yourselves, and to be kings and priests to God, the same as all gods have done before you, namely, by going from one small degree to another, and from a small capacity to a great one; from grace to grace, from exaltation to exaltation, until you attain to the resurrection of the dead, and are able to dwell in everlasting burnings, and to sit in glory, as do those who sit enthroned in everlasting power.” — Joseph Smith, April 1844 (more…)

October 27 –– Stone cut without hands…filled the whole earth. Daniel 2:34-35; “Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. 35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.”

Acts 4:10-12; “Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (more…)
