January 16 — Are Mormons Christians? Today we’re looking at a subject in the LDS Gospel Topic Section of their website. I’ve become quite enamored with how the Bible provides answers to topics that speak directly to contemporary issues for us today. It’s a reminder that God obviously knew beforehand! Notice in their statement they make the accusation that sincere seekers of truth will accept their variant belief. Furthermore, freedom to worship as you please doesn’t mean you’re exempt from following rules. If you’re not worshiping the right Jesus, it still means you’re not Christian, regardless of what freedoms you may or may not have. Pray that God will open their hearts to this truth! (more…)

Liahona, ‘Making Your Life a Soul-Stirring Journey of Personal Growth,’ December 2018 “It takes a special kind of faith to “believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom,” and then to be ready to accept them, whatever they are. … This isn’t about knowing the names of the twelve tribes of Israel or diagramming the allegory of the olives trees, as useful as such exercises may be. This kind of learning is about changing ourselves, about being different (better) because we know more of what God knows. … …as we learn His will, as we gather light and truth and make it part of us every day, that light will grow in us, “brighter and brighter until the perfect day” (D&C 50:24; emphasis added) when we can be with Him because we will be like Him.” — Jeffrey R. First Presidency releases 2018 Christmas message “Following is the 2018 First Presidency Christmas message, released Dec. 6 and signed by President Russell M. Nelson, President Dallin H. Oaks and President Henry B. Eyring:

Our Savior, Jesus Christ, offers to us four incomparable gifts — the capacity to love others, the ability to forgive, the blessing of repentance and the promise of life everlasting. … They were made possible because Jehovah condescended to come to earth as the baby Jesus. He was born of an immortal Father and a mortal mother. He was born in Bethlehem under the most humble of circumstances. His was the holy birth foreseen by prophets since the days of Adam. Jesus Christ is God’s transcendent gift — the gift of the Father to all of His children. (See John 3:16.) We joyfully celebrate His birth this Christmas season.”

“All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” John 1:3

This was a week of inner reflection as America buried its 41st President, George HW Bush. The importance of who this man was couldn’t be missed in the regalia of numerous ceremonies honoring him, and the legacy he left behind.

Our prayers at the ministry this month is focused upon another man of much greater import we hope will capture the attention of every Mormon, and give pause as to Who He is in their own lives.

In Mormonism, descriptions of their Jesus are all over the board. They range from an imperfect, created polygamous brother of Satan, to a redeemer, albeit, without omnipotent power. Today we’re looking at what the Book of Mormon says about Him. Our list here is a partial one taken from an article we published several years ago, Jesus According to the Book of Mormon and the LDS Church.

The reason for this post today is to provide a concise go-to-list of LDS references you can use for witnessing to the Mormon in your life. There’s not much they can argue about because all references can be found right in the BoM they carry around with them every day.

As Dr. Walter Martin always said, ‘Use demonstrative evidence, not experiential reasoning, when you witness’. This isn’t a time for those goose-bump moments! To read the original list with 111 BoM and LDS references, click on the link provided above.

One thing we pray above all other things is for Christ Jesus to be glorified in all we do! We’ve also  included just a few biblical references denoting the greatness of Jesus you can share as you spend time with the Mormons. When we ran a Google search for bible verses on the greatness of Jesus, the shortest list we came across contained 217 references. You obviously won’t run out of things to share – God is good!

Let us know how we can pray for you, and those you witness to!

With Love in Christ;

1 Cor. 1:18
