Do Mormons Help Fulfill Prophecies of God?

February 1 –– Do Mormons Help Fulfill Prophecies of God? Psalm 2:1 “WHY do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?”
Acts 4:25-28 “Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? 26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ. 27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, 28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.”
Conference Quote: Why Mormons Don’t Use the Cross

‘For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.’ 1 Corinthians 1:18
Now that conference is in our rearview mirror, we’re taking a look at some of the things LDS leaders announced. We’re beginning our look with one of the last talks which was given by Jeffrey Holland.
What caught my attention about this talk was the subject matter. Mr. Holland decided to explain why they don’t use the cross as a symbol of their faith. His reason was the same thing they’ve said in the past but he said nothing about the Moroni statue or the new Christus statue they proudly emphasized in April 2020 General Conference. (more…)

General Conference, ‘Fear Not: Believe Only!’ April 2022 “Young adults—and senior couples as well—serve missions by the thousands at their own expense with no say whatsoever as to where they will labor, and members young and old trundle off to temples to perform sacred ordinances necessary to bind the human family together— …
God promised He would, out of a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night, guide prophets, give an iron rod, open a narrow gate leading to a strait path, and above all grant us the power to finish the course. So please, please, stay for the whole feast even if you are not sure about the broccoli.” — Jeffrey Holland (more…)

A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. James 1:8
The recent General Conference proved to be a repeat of previous sessions filled with mixed messages throughout the weekend. Today we’re taking a quick look at three of those talks and comparing what they said to the Bible.
Listeners were told they take pride in how they’re an all-inclusive religion, but it’s the Church’s constitutional right to preach their god forbids them a true salvation. (more…)

“I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say…” — CS Lewis, Mere Christianity, pp. 55-56.
General Conference, “A Teacher Come from God”, April 1998 “For each of us to “come unto Christ,” to keep His commandments and follow His example back to the Father is surely the highest and holiest purpose of human existence. To help others do that as well—to teach, persuade, and prayerfully lead them to walk that path of redemption also—surely that must be the second most significant task in our lives.” — Jeffrey Holland (more…)

Holland’s Empty Apostolic Promise

General Conference, ‘Waiting on the Lord’ October 2020 “… while we work and wait together for the answers to some of our prayers, I offer you my apostolic promise that they are heard and they are answered, though perhaps not at the time or in the way we wanted. But they are always answered at the time and in the way an omniscient and eternally compassionate parent should answer them. My beloved brothers and sisters, please understand that He who never sleeps nor slumbers cares for the happiness and ultimate exaltation of His children above all else that a divine being has to do. He is pure love, gloriously personified, and Merciful Father is His name. …
COVID and cancer, doubt and dismay, financial trouble and family trials. When will these burdens be lifted? The answer is “by and by.” And whether that be a short period or a long one is not always ours to say, but by the grace of God, the blessings will come to those who hold fast to the gospel of Jesus Christ. That issue was settled in a very private garden and on a very public hill in Jerusalem long ago.” — Jeffrey Holland (more…)

‘What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?’ Luke 15:4
Today we’re taking a brief look at three of the talks given at General Conference in April 2020.
We pray that Christians will stop and pray for those who listened to the lies at this conference, and when given the opportunity, share the truth!
The main theme at the conference was Joe Smith, of this there is no doubt. Although events from the pandemic loomed overhead, the Church’s focus never strayed from their true agenda.
Paying homage to Smith has always been, and will continue to be the same, until they confess their sin of worshiping false gods, and practicing in the myriad of idolatrous behaviors in the temples.
They’ve rejected the fact that our true Shepherd has always looked over His flock, and faithfully so. Grasping at other isms, and what-ifs has sadly taken over every thought in their quest for the impossible godhood they seek. (more…)

Liahona, ‘Lord, I Believe,’ May 2013, 94 “When those moments come and issues surface, the resolution of which is not immediately forthcoming, hold fast to what you already know and stand strong until additional knowledge comes. … This is a divine work in process…so please don’t hyperventilate if from time to time issues arise that need to be examined, understood, and resolved. They do and they will. In this Church, what we know will always trump what we do not know”. — Jeffrey R. Holland (more…)
Numerous Contradictions Hide Stagnation of LDS Growth
Posted in General Conference April 2019, tagged false apostle, Jeffrey Holland, LDS Missionaries, missionaries to reach 100 thousand by 2019 on 06/11/2019| Leave a Comment »
Trying to nail down the true numbers of how many missionaries the Church has is like the old saying of trying to nail Jell-O to a wall. Their numbers change with the wind, making it impossible to take anything they say seriously.
In January 2015, the LDS Church claimed they had approximately 85,000 missionaries on their rosters. Two months later (March), LDS apostle Jeffrey R. Holland predicted the Church would have a ‘baseline’ of 100,000 Mormon missionaries by 2019 – see Salt Lake Tribune for more info. (more…)
LDS ‘Apostolic’ Easter Message: Reduce Sanctuary Clamor

2 Corinthians 11:13-14 “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”
General Conference, ‘Behold the Lamb of God’, April 2019 “After expulsion from the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve faced a devastating future. Having opened the door to mortality and temporal life for us, they had closed the door to immortality and eternal life for themselves. Due to a transgression they had consciously chosen to make in our behalf, they now faced physical death and spiritual banishment, separation from the presence of God forever. …
1.Why would it be devastating? According to Mormon canon, Adam and Eve praised God for their sin. Moses 5:11
2.They didn’t sin on our behalf. This is a huge lie! The Bible never says God commanded Adam and Eve to sin. (more…)

Liahona, ‘Making Your Life a Soul-Stirring Journey of Personal Growth,’ December 2018 “It takes a special kind of faith to “believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom,” and then to be ready to accept them, whatever they are. … This isn’t about knowing the names of the twelve tribes of Israel or diagramming the allegory of the olives trees, as useful as such exercises may be. This kind of learning is about changing ourselves, about being different (better) because we know more of what God knows. … …as we learn His will, as we gather light and truth and make it part of us every day, that light will grow in us, “brighter and brighter until the perfect day” (D&C 50:24; emphasis added) when we can be with Him because we will be like Him.” — Jeffrey R. Ensign, ‘We are All Enlisted,’ November 2011 “Number one, Satan, or Lucifer, or the father of lies—call him what you will—is real, the very personification of evil. His motives are in every case malicious, and he convulses at the appearance of redeeming light, at the very thought of truth. Number two, he is eternally opposed to the love of God, the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and the work of peace and salvation. He will fight against these whenever and wherever he can. He knows he will be defeated and cast out in the end, but he is determined to take down with him as many others as he possibly can.” – Jeffrey Holland (more…)
