Man is Acquiring Powers of God
Posted in False Prophecies of the Mormon Church, tagged April 1925, Conference Report, creation, false apostles of Mormonism, Orson F Whitney on 08/19/2021| 1 Comment »
Conference Report, April 1925, p. 20 “Miracles are extraordinary results flowing from superior means and methods of doing things. When man wants light he strikes a match, or presses a button, or turns a switch—and lo! there is light. When God wants light, he says: “Let there be light.” It is simply a matter of knowing how to do things in a superior way, and having the power to do them. Man is gradually acquiring this power.
It is a far call from the tallow dip to the electric light. But the end is not yet. Improvements will continue to be made, and some day, perhaps, men may be able to make light just as the Lord makes it. Paradoxically, it might be said that the time will come when miracles will be so common that there will be none.” — Orson F. Whitney (more…)

‘What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?’ Luke 15:4
Today we’re taking a brief look at three of the talks given at General Conference in April 2020.
We pray that Christians will stop and pray for those who listened to the lies at this conference, and when given the opportunity, share the truth!
The main theme at the conference was Joe Smith, of this there is no doubt. Although events from the pandemic loomed overhead, the Church’s focus never strayed from their true agenda.
Paying homage to Smith has always been, and will continue to be the same, until they confess their sin of worshiping false gods, and practicing in the myriad of idolatrous behaviors in the temples.
They’ve rejected the fact that our true Shepherd has always looked over His flock, and faithfully so. Grasping at other isms, and what-ifs has sadly taken over every thought in their quest for the impossible godhood they seek. (more…)

General Conference, ‘Face the Future with Faith’, May 2011 “To develop enduring faith, an enduring commitment to be a full-tithe payer is essential. Initially it takes faith to tithe. Then the tithe payer develops more faith to the point that tithing becomes a precious privilege.” — Russell M. Nelson (more…)

General Conference, ‘The Book of Mormon: What Would Your Life Be Like without It?,’ October 2017 “I testify that the Book of Mormon is truly the word of God. It contains the answers to life’s most compelling questions. It teaches the doctrine of Christ. It expands and clarifies many of the “plain and precious” truths that were lost through centuries of time and numerous translations of the Bible.
The Book of Mormon provides the fullest and most authoritative understanding of the Atonement of Jesus Christ to be found anywhere. …

Apostle Ballard’s Subtle Lies to LDS Youth

Matthew 22:36-40 “Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
Today we’re looking at an article in the latest New Era Magazine. As a reminder, the Church’s intended audience for this periodical is their youth group consisting of 12-18 yr old kids. To read the article in full, see New Era, ‘The True, Pure, and Simple Gospel of Jesus Christ (excerpts),’ May 2019.
The article was written by their apostle M. Russell Ballard and his focus was the Two Greatest Commandments – see biblical passage listed above. For the sake of time, we’re looking at one key item of interest. Ballard’s comment was couched in a lot of nondescript directives that’d be easy to look over, thus our pointing it out here. (more…)

Revelation 21:14 “And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.”
Church News, ‘Inside the Quorum of the Twelve, the Divine Calling Apostles Share with the Missionaries,’ July 27. 2017 “Elder Gerrit W. Gong, a recently called Apostle, calls it “a privilege” to meet with the missionaries who share his responsibility to “represent and testify” of the Savior and His restored gospel. The Apostles and missionaries, he added, also testify of the prophetic call of Joseph Smith, whose name would be known, according to prophecy, “for good and evil.” … “The missionaries help fulfill that prophecy every day as they testify of the Savior and the Prophet Joseph Smith—and the work he has done with the Restoration.” (more…)

2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
I’ve prayed the verse listed above I don’t know how many times for the Mormon people. One thing is certain, I’ll keep praying it until the Lord comes, or calls me home. I so want for them to know Jesus!
The first thing they must do however, is to disencumber themselves from the lies like those we’re looking at today. Mr. Anderson’s talk at the General Conference is a classic example of how their leaders are like a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

2 Peter 1:20-21 “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”
Peppered throughout the voluminous works of Mormonism are oft used reminders to members their leaders are the ‘living oracles’ of God. These self proclamations are slathered with warnings not to stray from what God ‘hath said’, and the Church is the only repository for info on salvation.

March 29 – Ephesians 4:11-14 shows us how the body of Christ operates. It says; “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children being tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive”.

General Conference, ‘Beware of False Prophets and False Teachers,’ October 1999; “I reiterate: there are false prophets and false teachers who have or at least claim to have membership in the Church. … they attempt to redefine the nature of the Godhead … False prophets and false teachers are those who arrogantly attempt to fashion new interpretations of the scriptures to demonstrate that these sacred texts should not be read as God’s words to His children but merely as the utterances of uninspired men, limited by their own prejudices and cultural biases. … They argue, therefore, that the scriptures require new interpretation and that they are uniquely qualified to offer that interpretation.” – M. This month’s message teaches us about the importance of eternal families, the role they will play in eternity, and touches on how The Fall made it all come together.
Mormons are all about the earthly, biological family we all have, and keeping those families intact throughout eternity. “Families are Forever” is one saying they like to use to reel people into the Church, because if the Church is all about the family then it must be approved of by God, right?

A couple of years ago I heard rumors of each Mormon apostle receiving a million bucks for signing on to become an apostle. The stipulation was he’d have to always do what he’s told, and keep mum about the transaction.
