flowers-cartoon-8Questions for Today:

Which is of greater worth; giving birth, or Blood of Christ?

How many babies are equivalent to Jesus’ spilt blood?

Before we begin this month’s Visiting Teaching Message we wanted to address a comment we received from a visitor (presumably LDS from the tone), and let him/her know we’ve been praying for them, and will continue to do so! The March 2016 VT Message must’ve struck a nerve because it was the 3rd time ‘Anonymous’ has written in response to our article.

salt lake mormon temple 2 Journal of Discourses 21:201; “…not only all the children of men, of all generations, and of all ages, were created spiritually in heaven, but that fish and fowls, and beast, and all animated things, having life, were first made spiritual in heaven… … We are also told in this inspired translation, that these living trees which we behold—for God has given life unto all things—had their spiritual existence in heaven before their temporal existence; every herb and every tree, before it was planted out on the earth, that is, the spiritual part of it … that which gives power to the vegetable to bring forth fruit after its likeness—the spiritual part existed in heaven. …

…We read about the earth’s dying, and that it shall be quickened again. What is it that will make the earth die? It will be the withdrawing of the spiritual portion from it, that which gives it life— …

On the seventh day he began the temporal portion. There was not yet a man to till the ground, “and the gods formed man from the dust of the ground, and took his spirit—that is the man’s spirit—and put it into him and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul…” – Orson Pratt, Mount Pleasant, Utah, November 12, 1879

Romans 8:38-39; “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

The following two recent talks given by apostles Russell Ballard, and Jeffrey Holland reveal the deep concern, if not panic, they’re facing when it comes to keeping members in their fold. The first talk was delivered to a group of CES Teachers who were attending a training seminar. (CES = Church Education System)

Wise People Don’t Use the Internet

M. Russell BallardBroadcast, ‘The Opportunities and Responsibilities of CES Teachers in the 21st Century,’ February 26, 2016; “For you to understand the doctrinal and historical content and context of the scriptures and our history, you will need to study from the “best books,” as the Lord directed. The “best books” include the scriptures, the teachings of modern prophets and apostles, and the best LDS scholarship available. …  Teach them [students] about the challenges they face when relying upon the Internet to answer questions of eternal significance. Remind them that James did not say, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him Google!”8

Wise people do not rely on the Internet to diagnose…life-threatening challenges. Instead, they seek out health experts, those trained and licensed…Even then, prudent people seek a second opinion. …When something has the potential to threaten our spiritual life, our most precious family relationships, and our membership in the kingdom, we should find thoughtful and faithful Church leaders to help us.” – M. Russell Ballard

Philippians 3:7-10; “But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, 9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: 10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.”

General Conference April 2016 3Yesterday we looked at three of the talks given at General Conference this past weekend, and today we’re taking a look at three others. Oh, how I wish people in this church would open their hearts to the real Jesus of the Bible and here’s why…

That I May Know Him…

Mormonism doesn’t  just break the ties of family members, but they try to subvert any relationship between our sweet Jesus, and mankind as well. For those who aren’t aware, leaving the Church has a high price to pay, and what they do to families is like a train wreck waiting to happen. It’s certainly a hard row to hoe in the beginning, but our Lord always provides by sending mature Christians into our lives, and comfort through His word.

Isaiah 5:20-21; “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!  21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes And clever in their own sight!”

General Conference April 2016 3
For the next couple of days we’re taking a look at a few of the summaries for the talks given at the General Conference from this past weekend April 2-3, 2016. As is always the case, there were no revelations from the Church. One would think this might happen on occasion since they’re pretty resolute on the theory they must have prophets to reveal new things from their god.

Each of the three talks we looked at here are nothing short of deplorable, thus limiting ourselves to just a few of them here. I still haven’t decided which one is worse…

the-first-presidencylds_conference_april_2010When I came upon the Church’s Easter message, I had to shake my head at the number of inconsistencies they plastered on their website. Today we’re taking a look at what they tried to tell people about Jesus. And for Easter Holy Week of all times…good grief! We’ll be listing each name title they used and define them in a proper manner so there won’t be any confusion!

First Presidency Easter Message, March 17, 2016; “Jesus Christ is the Son of God, Jehovah of the Old Testament, and the Messiah of the New Testament. He died and was resurrected, and He lives in glory with our Eternal Father.

robert halesEnsign, “The Eternal Family,” Nov. 1996, p. 65; “Because of the importance of the family to the eternal plan of happiness, Satan makes a major effort to destroy the sanctity of the family, demean the importance of the role of men and women, encourage moral uncleanliness and violations of the sacred law of chastity, and to discourage parents from placing the bearing and rearing of children as one of their highest priorities.” – Robert D. Hales

salt lake mormon temple 2Journal of Discourses 5:22; “Nearly twenty years ago, I was in a place in England in which I felt very curious; but I did notHeber C Kimball know at the time what it meant. I went through a town called Chadburn, beyond Clithero. Before I went there, some persons told me that there was no use in my going, and asked me what I wanted to go to Chadburn for, saying it was the worst place in the country; for the sectarian priests had preached there faithfully thirty years without making any impression. Notwithstanding that, I went, and preached once, and baptized twenty-five persons, where the priests had not been able to do a thing.

Can the Spirit of God enter a stone, or one of those posts? Yes; and it can fill every pore as well as it can every pore in my body. Can it enter into my pores? Yes, even into my hair; and it can also enter my bones and quicken every limb, joint, and fiber.” –  Remarks by President Heber C. Matthew 15:8-9; “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”

The Occult in Mormonism and the Life of Joseph SmithWhat God-fearing Christian doesn’t know, and treat with awe, the words of Christ in this passage?  I don’t know of any. Do you?

One sign that Mormonism doesn’t qualify as a Christian church is because of statements made by their leaders we’re looking at today. Pray for them, won’t you? Their comments are so brazen and rebellious, it immediately stops me in my tracks.

I’m not so much concerned about the disregard for their own canon, as I am about the word of God. Obviously, if they truly loved Jesus, they’d heed His precious words.

The garish images on the left are but a few of the resources Mormonism relies upon. Coupled with the comments we see today, they stand as a testament to what’s going on inside their hearts.

salt lake mormon temple 2General Conference, ‘Maintaining Spirituality,’ October 1979; “This loss of spirituality began with the children of Adam and Eve when they refused to obey the teachings of their parents.

You will recall that Adam was taught the gospel by an angel (see Moses 5:6–8), and that thereafter “he was caught away by the Spirit of the Lord,” and was baptized and received the Holy Ghost. “And thus he was born of the Spirit” (see Moses 6:64–65; see also Moses 5:10).” – Marion G. Romney

From the seventeenth to twenty-first century, theories about the ‘Lost Ten Tribes’ are in no short supply. It seems everyone has had an opinion about it. One of the hot topics in the early nineteenth century was the speculation of what happened to the so-called ‘Lost Ten Tribes of Israel’.

Opinions they had assimilated into the remaining two tribes during the Assyrian takeover c. BC 700, to the belief they had become the American Indians, ran their full course for more than a century.

neil-l-andersenGeneral Conference, ‘Faith Is Not by Chance, but by Choice,’ October 2015

LDS apostle, Neil Andersen gave a speech at the General Conference last week hammering home the importance of how their faith in ‘things not seen’ must override any negative thoughts, or facts, plaguing their minds.

Faith can be a hard thing to come by for some folks, and for others not so much. The one thing faith shouldn’t be is blind.

dieter uchtdorfFIRST PRESIDENCY MESSAGE, ‘Finish with Your Torch Still Lit,’ October 2015;

“… …The Light That Never Dies

Sometimes after stumbling, failing, or even giving up, we get discouraged and believe our light has gone out and our race is lost. But I testify that the Light of Christ cannot be extinguished. It shines in the darkest night and will relight our hearts if only we incline our hearts to Him (see 1 Kings 8:58).

No matter how often or how far we fall, theLight of Christ ever burns brightly. And even in the deepest night, if we but step toward Him, His light will consume the shadows and reignite our souls…

For the torch is not about us or about what we do.

It is about the Savior of the world.

And that is a Light that can never be dimmed. It is a Light that swallows the darkness, heals our wounds, and blazes even in the midst of the deepest sorrow and unfathomable darkness.

It is a Light that surpasses understanding.

May each of us finish the path we have begun. And with the help of our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, we will finish joyfully and with our torches still lit.” – Dieter F. Uchtdorf

LDS Apostles Named at General ConferenceThe LDS Church has three new apostles, bringing the total count of Mormon apostles in their 185 year history to a staggering number of 100. Think about this for a moment…

Can you just imagine Jesus putting His stamp of approval on such a thing? I, for one, cannot!

Today we’re looking at the Church’s official announcement I read on their front page because quite frankly, I was appalled at the blatant lies, and utter confusion they wear like an orange field jacket out in the wild. They’ve made themselves to be a spectacle – pray that members will see this for what it is. It’s nothing but more of the same with more lies piled on to the pyramid scheme they have built.
