General Conference, ‘Always Retain a Remission of Your Sins,’ Saturday Afternoon Session, April 2, 2016 “As members of the Lord’s restored Church, we are blessed both by our initial cleansing from sin associated with baptism and by the potential for an ongoing cleansing from sin made possible through the companionship and power of the Holy Ghost. …

… The act of partaking of the sacrament, in and of itself, does not remit sins. But as we prepare conscientiously and participate in this holy ordinance with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, then the promise is that we may always have the Spirit of the Lord to be with us. And by the sanctifying power of the Holy Ghost as our constant companion, we can always retain a remission of our sins.” — David A. Bednar (more…)

Remember beloved, God has forbidden us from having conversations with dead people.  Deuteronomy 18:9-12;

“When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.”

russell-m-nelson-ldsorg-articleAt the April 2016 General Conference LDS Apostle Russell M. Nelson told listening ears if they wanted to hold true priesthood power of the Mormon priesthood, they should expect to pay a price for their ‘blessing’ of doing so. See The Price of Priesthood Power. What he wasn’t clear about is how God feels about it, and what He warns us not to do.

John 14:27; “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

LDS No PeaceGeneral Conference, ‘Opposition in All Things,’ April 2016; “The purpose of mortal life for the children of God is to provide the experiences needed “to progress toward perfection and ultimately realize their divine destiny as heirs of eternal life.” …

From the beginning, agency and opposition were central to the Father’s plan and to Satan’s rebellion against it…

One of the best explanations of the planned role of opposition is in the Book of Mormon, in Lehi’s teachings to his son Jacob.

“It must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things. If not so, … righteousness could not be brought to pass, neither wickedness, neither holiness nor misery, neither good nor bad” (2 Nephi 2:11; see also verse 15). … Similarly, in modern revelation the Lord declares, “It must needs be that the devil should tempt the children of men, or they could not be agents unto themselves” (D&C 29:39).” – Dallin Oaks

Psalm 75:6-7; “For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. 7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.”

Today we’re looking at the Sovereignty of God!

As a Mormon I had never heard of such a thing, and always believed I was in heaven with God and everyone else before the world was created. This for me, was one of the most shocking discoveries when I left Mormonism.

mormon-council-heavenThis is why we’re looking at Mr. Ballard’s talk. All the claims he made here are lies.

General Conference, ‘Family Councils,’ Saturday Afternoon Session, April 2, 2016; “Family councils have always been needed. They are, in fact, eternal. We belonged to a family council in the premortal existence, when we lived with our heavenly parents as their spirit children. …

Philippians 3:7-10; “But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, 9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: 10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.”

General Conference April 2016 3Yesterday we looked at three of the talks given at General Conference this past weekend, and today we’re taking a look at three others. Oh, how I wish people in this church would open their hearts to the real Jesus of the Bible and here’s why…

That I May Know Him…

Mormonism doesn’t  just break the ties of family members, but they try to subvert any relationship between our sweet Jesus, and mankind as well. For those who aren’t aware, leaving the Church has a high price to pay, and what they do to families is like a train wreck waiting to happen. It’s certainly a hard row to hoe in the beginning, but our Lord always provides by sending mature Christians into our lives, and comfort through His word.

Isaiah 5:20-21; “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!  21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes And clever in their own sight!”

General Conference April 2016 3
For the next couple of days we’re taking a look at a few of the summaries for the talks given at the General Conference from this past weekend April 2-3, 2016. As is always the case, there were no revelations from the Church. One would think this might happen on occasion since they’re pretty resolute on the theory they must have prophets to reveal new things from their god.

Each of the three talks we looked at here are nothing short of deplorable, thus limiting ourselves to just a few of them here. I still haven’t decided which one is worse…
